this book altered my brain chemistry

At the time I watched this I had just come out of a twenty year relationship with someone who, it seems, has narcissistic personality disorder and who has manipulated and bargained her way through the last 20 years as if we had been fighting a case in court. It makes me desperately sad, happy and hopeful to see this beautiful portrayal of the way real love can be.

The only adaptation that is better than the book. I hated the book. I absolutely adore the show!

My favorite scene in the show that differed from the book was when Connell apologizes for the way he treated her in high school( secondary school) Connell had to face her and be a bigger man. Marianne let him see her real tears. I liked that better than him apologizing in bed. He had no where to go or hide his face. These actors were superb and truly made the audience feel the emotions thru the screen. So real. It just breaks my heart because of the pain both go throughout their lives together and apart… it was just AMAZING!!!!

This serie is truly insanely good!!!! So grateful for everyone who worked for this 🙏💞

This show made me realise as a 30 year old woman that I need to be more vulnerable and intimate. Even the sex scenes were so beautiful because it showed how their connection climaxed into this special thing. I have no idea where I was when I was 17 or 22, but I wasn't there with an open heart as these two characters. That is for sure. This show means a lot to me. It showed me what I've been missing all along and I am grateful for that.

It's weird, I'm halfway through the series and think "wow I can feel what they feel" and then I come watch these videos and people are saying the same thing, seems like they did very very well

I loved the show but i feel it is little too long , I feel there is only 8 episode worth content.. and they just streched it to 12 episodes...

Such a beautiful show! loved the cast, loved the frames of cinematography I imagined Connelle and Marianne be together and marries and warped windows plays in the bgm.

When I started to watch this I couldn’t stop, loved it. Beautiful storyline brings back some childhood school memories. I have watched it a few times and cry every time. Hope there is a series 2 ? Actors Paul and Daisy just wow to you both amazing , beautiful to watch. X

heartbreakingly beautiful this story

The script is great and the main duet played by Paul and Daisy is more than credible; they are beautiful and so expressive even without speaking. An addictive series. Emotions and feelings that touch us.

I could not agree more with the writers and directors of this brilliant show. I had heard about it but wasn’t able to view it here in Canada so when it arrived on Amazon Prime I binged the whole show in one night .. I cried many times and loved every minute … I was particularly moved by Paul Mescals performance …

This is such a beautiful show. The lack of communication between Marianne and Connell is portrayed realistically. Some parts of the show felt deeply personal to me which was comforting in a way. I still think about the ending quite a lot. "I'll stay. And I'll go. And we'll be okay."

I haven't loved something this much in a very long time. I keep returning to watch specific scenes. It's hard to believe the two actors are not Connell and Marianne. Just Beautiful

Normal people, only problem they are not your average normal people. They are two highly smart, good looking, athletic and rich individuals. And that is not the definition of normal people.

This was a masterpiece. I studied photography, I know this means nothing in the grander scheme of things, however, since doing so, I find it impossible to just watch now. Well, this had me in awe with the direction of the photography/cinematography. I was going through my own personal troubles at the time, and this reminded me of my wife, my son's, the things, places, and people that I love.
It was sentimental without being sickeningly so, there was enough sex scenes to convey the passion between the two without going too far, and enough heartache without being too devastating. I suppose this is why the book was chosen to be turned into a screenplay.

Idk I don’t feel like I watched a show, they made me feel like I was PART of it, almost living their life as a friend. Gosh, I just finished the entire series and I can’t get over it. Such an amazing show!!!

I read the book and watched the show 2 months ago, I can’t stop thinking about it. This is one of these stories that just stick with you, it makes me want to look at life and relationships in a different way.

The best book adaptation I’ve ever seen. When I was watching the show I felt like I was seeing the images that play in your head when you read. From the casting, to the environment, to the general feeling and wardrobe and music and dialogue. Everything felt just like the book.

An exceptional piece of story telling, acting and film making that stands head an shoulders above any other I have witnessed - It is very special -It should be required viewing for Young People due to the honesty inn the way it deals with sex, communication and the male and female intimacy. It is so good in dealing with the issue of consent!!

Amazing series and you really feel the story with the way it has been acted and put together, there is something about an Irish accent though wish there was another series

Daisy E-J has been nominated for the 2021 Golden Globes for her role as Marianne in Normal People according to the Evening Standard of 03/02/21. [ Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology or TV Movie] About time too! Excellent news; well done Daisy for your brilliant performance. However, although Paul Mescal was snubbed he it absolutely delighted that Daisy, his gorgeous 'friend' has finally received the recognition she so richly deserves. What an amazing couple they make.
