ОтветитьI have NDIS services in my country, and many of the support workers I get are foreigners, and many times I think when they are on the phone talking in their native language they are talking about me. But that is probably just some built-in racism. My Indian worker makes it a habit of letting me know what they spoke about just to reassure me that she wasn't talking about me. I have schizophrenia and that shit makes me paranoid.
ОтветитьI was walking downtown Ottawa with the niece and the wife in French. Some homeless turned around and asked us if we spoke dutch. Begs, can't speak the language of the people he's hustling, I was of disapointment.
ОтветитьAnd he turned around and said what???? I literally listen to that three times and couldn’t understand it

Ответить3% of the world speaks Afrikaans, but if a person is rude the chances of them speaking it or dutch go way way up.
ОтветитьNgl, I’m a bit surprised she never clocked he was a fellow South African, when just a few seconds before he had pushed past her to get to the luggage carousel before them.
ОтветитьHe turned around and said what ? I can always what ?
ОтветитьGod luv asb ek is
ОтветитьWhat a shock, the rude man was South African 😂

ОтветитьMe and some friends were sharing an Uber in Brazil. One of them was a Norwegian exchange student, so we spoke in English, our common tongue. Then suddenly, the Uber driver says "First time I've passengers who know English". Turns out he was an Egyptian immigrant. The rest of the travel was two Brazilians, a Norwegian and an Egyptian, all conversing in English 😂
ОтветитьCorden would just say it behind peoples backs, because he is a right tosser and a fake tosser at that.
ОтветитьHi James Corden, Happy Holidays! Thanks for sharing. Much Blessings to you. 🙏 Lord-Jesus-Christ ✝c✝o✝m
ОтветитьWell, given the fact that you were coming on a flight from south Africa, there's the increased chance another passenger is going to speak africanns.
ОтветитьOK, so you speak slang, Dutch
ОтветитьMany years ago I volunteered weekends at a charitable casino at the roulette table. There was a Vietnamese man who was losing badly. When he went bust he started mouthing off at me in Vietnamese. When I replied to him in his own language he was shocked and embarrassed. I was only learning at the time but because I was learning from a younger generation they taught me all the foul language first lol
ОтветитьWell you did say he was very rude. That was your clue right there.
ОтветитьYears ago i lived in London and on the bus one day there where two black ladies sitting behind me.When they started to speak to each other i could hear as clear as day they where speaking Sesotho. When i turned around looked them in the eyes and started speaking Sesotho to them. They screamed and laughed.Turns out they where also from the Eastern Free State, hour hometowns less that 80km from each other.😄
ОтветитьAfrikaans is a beautiful language in my ears. Nobody should be ashamed for speaking it.
Ответитьi can understand almost everything she said in afrikaans in an interview. its sounds like very bad german
ОтветитьYet she is ashamed of speaking Afrikaans and calls it a dying language even though more people speak Afrikaans as 1st language than the entire population of: Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Switserland etc. Perhaps in comparison to the 600m people in the US it is dying but its still pretty huge
ОтветитьAfrikaans is basically slang Dutch. Charlize call me, ik spreek Nederlands. Dus dat komt wel goed.
ОтветитьOh shit she want from American to south African real quik
Ответитьholy cow, its cam.
Ответить3% of 8 billion (global population) "nobody is going to understand you".......only 240,000,000 people speak Afrikanas???? Maybe she should educate herself.......
ОтветитьAfrikaans is a rare language, but Xhosa is even rarer. I don’t speak Xhosa, but my friend speaks it because her parents are from South Africa and her mom is white South African and her dad is black South African. She grew up speaking both languages and never heard outside of Africa speaking either languages. She did hear one Afrikaans conversation in passing, but one of these days, she wants to hear Xhosa even if it’s an insult. 😂😂😂
ОтветитьGotta be careful as Dutch can also understand
ОтветитьIk kan alles horen wat jullie zeggen waar (I can truly understand everything that you are saying. Really! )That's what I made out of it :D African sounds like Dutch.
ОтветитьMe living in California and understanding Spanish this situation is daily for me
ОтветитьI keep expecting Corden to start stuffing pastries down his gullet at any moment. Who will win the Corden heart attack pool? I say 2028.
ОтветитьWhere I live there are a lot of saffys, I call them out if they speak smack about anyone but to be fair they're usually on the phone to their wife's or moms being absolute gentleman
ОтветитьCharlize said that only 3% of the world's population speaks Afrikaans so chances are no one will understand. However, I wonder if the Dutch would since it's a mix between Dutch and some African dialects, as far as I understand.
EDIT: Looked it up so I'll answer my own question.
One study found that the lexical similarity between Dutch and Afrikaans is 90% to 95%. This means that 90% to 95% of Afrikaans words are also found in Dutch. This is a very high degree of similarity, and it is why Dutch and Afrikaans speakers are generally able to understand each other.
Another way to measure the similarity between two languages is to use a syntactic similarity measure, which calculates the percentage of sentences that are grammatically similar.
One study found that the syntactic similarity between Dutch and Afrikaans is 80% to 85%. This means that 80% to 85% of Afrikaans sentences can be understood by Dutch speakers without any changes to the grammar.
We were walking in NYC once. It was a really warm spring day and we saw a black dude wearing a fur coat so we made fun of him in Russian. He turned around and started speaking to us in Russian. Turned out he was an African student at a university in Moscow before moving to US.
ОтветитьWe dutch understand your afrikaans too 😂😉
But there not many people who understand us lol
3% lmfao try that math again, lady
ОтветитьWow I thought she left Africa behind and everything it represents...it's shocking to here her speaking Afrikaans so fluently, but I like it🤙
ОтветитьWell, if the man was being impolite, he should be the one to feel ashamed.
ОтветитьIf there were legit, acting classes in South Africa and Zimbabwe, white people born in Africa would be the best actors and performers in the whole entire world
ОтветитьCorden is gigantic
ОтветитьHaha al die achterlijke yanken.
ОтветитьWell, it is the language of the racist colonialists.
ОтветитьYes, the POS Liberals need to be slapped down in every country it seems!
Ответить8.4 million people speak Afrikaans in the world. That's 0.1% of the population, not 3%. 3% would be 252 million people...
Ответить"3% of the world's population speaks Afrikaans"
Sure, that might be correct, but it's very similar to Dutch, so Dutch and Belgian people will understand you
