that seems like such a pain in the ass but i bet you that is one helluva precise repeater
ОтветитьIs this really the way to go? It's seems like he is bending the slots on the slide as opposed to removing material.
ОтветитьWhat lapping compound were you using?
ОтветитьThis is the way
ОтветитьThis was pretty painful to watch. There are easier and more precise ways to get a perfect slide fit
ОтветитьCan't you just file it? Seams like it would be easier, I wouldn't like to beat on my firearm like that. But, if it works.
ОтветитьTem como fazer um pra mim da pt 92
ОтветитьPó fiquei cansado só em vê, muito bom um excelente profissional meus parabéns.
ОтветитьTop
ОтветитьHow long does it take? Ive been working mine back and forth for 2 days. Noticed that once I started doing it by hand, it seemed to go a little faster.

ОтветитьGreat video... too many arm chair gunsmith leaving bogus comments
Ответитьwhich size blade for line plz
ОтветитьWhat's up with that frame? Is the rest of it aluminum and bolts on later?
Thanks for the video, every behind the scenes video at Wilson or Baer shows the same process.
how did you cut your rails?
Ответитьfirst off thats pretty much how les baer fits his slides and frames, so eat it urban. secondly frame to slide fit acounts for about 5% of your accuracy. its all about lock up.
ОтветитьThe last comment is dead on!! This mr. Jdrinkh20 has no clue? I dont care if the mallet is hard plastic or rubber! Never do what this rookie is doing by beating the s--t out of his slide to lap it? Really? Real gunsmith dont smith like this rookie! I cringed as I watches this! Hey knuckle head rookie how bout a little advise, try some 2000 grit sandpaper idiot so you dont throw your accuracy out the window by beating the s--t out of your front of your slide? Afterall when you lap it your trying to achive smoothness and most of all knuckle head accuracy. Have a good day rookie wannabe you tube internet gunsmith.....
Ответитьgood!
ОтветитьIts steel vs plastic.....something tells me steel is going to have a flawless victory if anything happened.
Ответитьwhen you first start lapping, there are usually a couple of really tight spots. it is just prudent (makes life easier) to us one. Later on it is not needed. When you get into finer grits, it should be all by hand.....the really tight spots are gone, or you moved too quickly into the finer grits if you have to beat on the slide to move it.
ОтветитьThat was painful to watch. A mallet has no place in fitting a slide. Ask les or bill if they use a mallet .
Ответитьtight and sweet!
ОтветитьSo that's how you do it. I have a really cheap Chinese 1911 and the slide feels like it has sand in it. I will try this method to clean it up. Thanks
