I always thought I'm alone and isolated but after watching this one I must conclude: NOT EVEN CLOSE!

Candid moment: when I went to jail, was put in a cell alone like that. No bars, just a concrete square of isolation... I ended up pulling the yarn from the blanket out and making a whole calendar with the strings, to keep my guess on schedule haha ..

I would never try that, for several reasons, but the thing that put me off just by hearing them talk about it was "this light will never go off". I can't handle city lights in my sleep, I could never be 72h with a bright light that won't turn off.

If the pandemic taught me one thing is that I do not want to spend the rest of my life living inside my house.

It’s great to have a place of your own, but being stuck in their 24/7 will drive you insane especially if you’re not alone.

Your house should be like a dark souls hub world where it feels so good to return after a hectic day and you take a rest and restore your energy, but immediately after that you’d wanna go back out their and get to work again.

Retired Corrections Officer here. In extreme cases of punishment for bad behavior, we would lock inmates into "solitary confinement" for weeks at a time, up to an entire 30 days. I've witnessed in real life, many men broken in these conditions. There's a great episode of "Law & Order SVU" where Det Stabler asks his CO buddy to put him in solitary for a weekend as an experiment. Stabler was on the verge of losing his mind from just one weekend. Scary stuff.

Solitary confinement, with nothing to read and no sunlight, is completely barbaric. Save for murderers, rapists, and some consistently violent offenders, I can't believe it's still used on people to this day.

There are prisons that keep inmates isolated for months and even years.................no wonder why these inmates turn out to be really troubled souls when released into the real world. US and China have the highest insanity index for inmates than any other country.
