Traditional authentic Guangdong fried rice will "always" incorporate pork fat into the fried rice. Pork fat is not that healthy for the health conscious but in south China taste will "always" comes before eating healthy.

Darling you have to get yourself some sesame oil and some oyster. I suggest you be a thug about it and pick up some Chinese five spice. Believe me your Chinese fried rice will hit you differently.

ОтветитьThis recipe is definitely on my list to try on the outdoor griddle. Perfect proportions for one or two people. Gonna do this recipe too with scallops since my wife is allergic to shrimp. In my sailing days, some of the best meals I've ever had were on the beaches of the Abacos that were prepared by the local Bahamians. Your recipe is very reminiscent of those long ago days in the Islands.

ОтветитьThis recipe is all backwards…. For one why are we cooking everything separate? For two why is the garlic going in AFTER the veggies.. the whole point of the garlic is to season the oil you cook the veggies in, which might I add aren’t even fresh vegetables. You don’t need to whisk the egg and cook it and remove it. Cook everything together first. Garlic into the oil then the rice to get it crispy, then veggies if they’re canned or frozen, then make a well in the middle and crack your eggs straight in. Add the shrimp last since it takes the least amount of time to cook and BAM! Add your soy sauce or whatever… I’m sorry but just no. No no no.
