5 Reasons To NOT Buy A 2023 Chevy Colorado

Ive had 5 brand new truck Nissan toco ford and my ZR2 illnvr get rid of my chevy Zr2 absolutely love im gonna get me the new 2024 ZR2.

Engine power reduced….. transmission shudder….. timing belt……💩💩💩🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Sooooo you’re complaining bc you didn’t do your research, bought it so quickly that they are still working bugs out and you don’t understand the differences between the trims let alone gmc vs Chevy? I just hear you whining like a little child, “I’m not going to wait and going to get a lower tier trim and complain why it doesn’t have all the luxury that I want” that is what you sound like. You bought a trail boss, it’s a good truck for what it is, the only thing you said that is valid is that prices are inflated, but that is every vehicle.

My ZR2 has a check engine light issue that has been diagnosed as a multifunction voltage controller malfunction. A part has been ordered. It sounds like the all the new Chevy midsize trucks have electrical bugs.

I asked the dealer why everything is plastic they said so you can pressure wash the inside without damaging the interior after going off roading in the mud

I have the Trail Boss and love it zero issues zero mark up over msrp.. I've had several trucks and currently have a 2017 Silverado and The Colorado is by far the best driving truck I've owned.

Yea totally agree in general. Don't buy a first model year of a new generation as a general rule of thumb. I have a 2021 Z71 and love the thing. Have no intention of upgrading to the new gen for at least a couple more model years. As to the trail boss trim. I think the trail boss is a marketing gimmick for suburban dads who want something that seems badass. The reality is that the trail boss is practically a base model with a few superfluous trim "upgrades" to make it look badass without really being badass like the Z71 and ZR2. It's akin to the popular "black out" editions of all these basic sedans and SUVs. Does nothing to improve the truck but is just a visual "I have a badass pickup" look and that's all it is. The illusion crumbles when you put it up against a real off road 4x4 package like the Z71/ZR2 trims. In other words, stay away from Trail Boss, it's a joke and people who buy them quickly regret falling for the marketing gimmick. You aren't a boss if you buy a trail boss, you're a poser and a dumb dumb.

Great truck, great motor. For the money the new Colorado is an amazing deal. If you want heated seats and a nicer interior buy the Z71 or ZR2.

This was a great Ford commercial. ZR2 forums are full of huge quality control issues. Also the light switch in the center screen has already led to head on collisions. GM is going to loose sooooo much money on lawsuits.

The Trail Boss interior was designed to have that "cheap" interior, plastic door panels, steering wheel, dash, etc was made for off roaders that when you get it dirty inside everything wipes down and cleans easier, I have the Z71 - 2023 - and I have alot nicer materials - door panels, leather steering wheel, seats, red stitching everywhere etc, and yes I needed the heated seats so I went with the Z71, the 2023 colorado is only slightly larger on the inside than the previous 2015- 2023s, I did learn by accident that when you hold down the unlock button on the keyfob for 5 seconds or more all of the windows will automatically lower themselves if the truck is running or not, I will have to pay attention to that when its raining or snowing or just in a shopping center parking lot, I guess it was made to let the heat out before you get in the truck? as for price nothings cheap anymore the average price of new vehicles is around $40,000 which puts it in the same price as the Tacoma and Frontier

I bought me a 2022 z71 Colorado last year brand new and boy I’m so happy I got the 2022 z71model!! Seeing all these videos of people complaining (rightly so) about the 4 cylinder engine, lack of leather interior, digital headlights, etc… I’m so thankful for mine as it does have all leather interior, long tested 6 cylinder, manual buttons, etc. hope Chevy reverts all these changes in the future…

My 2023 GMC Canyon elevation was cheaper and looks 10 times nicer inside and out then the trailboss chevy.

I just bought a trail boss and love it. I could care less about the interior or heated seats. I live in Minnesota with harsh winters. My last car was decked out with all the fancy options and I hardly used any of them. The TB is overall a basic simple truck. I love everything about it accept for no LED headlights... but just bought the high end white lamps and it looks great. Your issues are not fun but every manufacturer out there has the same or worse issues. The TB is a beast. Your whining about little issues is click bait. It's a really good truck.

I paid $32,000 out the door for my 2918 LT Colorado 4x4 with LT Convenience Package and Crew Cab with a (Long Box) OUT THE DOOR! I would be an absolute fool to trade my truck and loose at least $15,000 and have to go to a shorter truck bed. I hope GM loses their ass on that truck

Sorry about your CEL - that sucks on a new rig. Just picked up a 2023 ZR2 and I love it so far. Granted, it is a little higher trim level but similar interior. I was going to order a Z71, but trimmed out how I wanted was more money than the ZR2. I'm normally a full size truck guy, and the ZR2 can't replace my 3500 HD, but I love the mobility and surprising power of the HO 2.7 Turbo. Way more torque than I anticipated, and revs our pretty quickly, too.

Wish I watched this before I bought mine. I’m trading it in before the first oil change is even due. Upgrading to the Silverado trail boss. And hoping for a better experience. I have tons of issues with my display screen just like you. Took Chevy over a week to figure it out. They didn’t want to give me a loaner vehicle either till I put a bad review online and talked a bunch of sh*t to them. The dealership was terrible, the truck is too small, the technology isn’t tested enough to be reliable, my collision warning system goes off constantly even when there is nothing in front of me, doesn’t come with a tow package, I installed my own hitch (Chevy wanted $900 to do it), no heated anything, manual back window is outdated and annoying, wayyyy too much plastic, feels like you’re riding in a tin can, the missing storage on the back of the seats is annoying, no smart keyless entry, everything you may want like the plug in the bed for example is an upgrade and no sun roof. For the money you pay there sure isn’t a lot that comes with it besides anger and regret. I should have just kept my 4runner!

Well in my opinion before you buy look at everything.. zr2 has all those features you want.. so a little more money will get you more . . My opinion

That volume control is a push button OFF - ON too. The only problem on my new 2023 Chevy Colorado is that the headlights are on during the day when in AUTO Control. You're in the Bluetooth mode, switch out of that for the AM/FM Stations. I'm definitely old school, but you can't stay back in time ... Time waits for no man, they say. We just have to learn how to remedy the so called high tech glitched when they occur. I paid 44K for my Colorado LT 9 Radiant Red) but I have almost all the option as the Z71, included the lifetime bed protection, side SS step bars,, contoured mud flaps, high tech floor mats, paint shield, 7 year bumper to bumper, and 4 window shades (which I don't like the brand). I recently had the truck rust-proofed for almost $700. I'm a senior citizen (75), so this is the last vehicle I'll ever own, which I'll Will to my son. The Chevy Dealer was the only dealership that gave me money on my 21 yo Ford Ranger XLT which I purchased new in 2002, plus they gave me a military discount. So, the 2023 Chevy Colorado was a perfect match for me. With the Auto Workers going on strike, lucky me I already made 2023 new vehicle purchase, price of vehicles will skyrocket along with Auto Insurance for everyone ... Believe it!

Halogen interior lights are a complaint? Wow, I am gonna make my gripe video soon, stay tuned 😂. Most people are fully capable of determining what truck and how much space they need. I bought the Z71 level 3 package because I wanted everything that he is complaining about. Should have done your homework before buying!

I just stopped by the local Chevy dealer here in East Central Saskatchewan and look at the same truck as that and it's listing for$ 51,000.00.

I added Katzkin leather heated and cooled with the seat pockets. Added some usb and bed connections; now pretty nice.

I had the option 22 or 23 zr2. Glad I got the 22 zr2. I already know you couldn't get the heated seats with trailboss. You should get a buyback. Wait til the 24. Don't get anything but the ZR2

Just about anyone and everyone knows not to buy the first of a new generation. You would have been infinitely better off getting a 22

leather seats and stitched steering wheel.
