The worst part us they already finished filming months ago and there is no way it takes this long to make enough cgi animation for at least a trailer

Honestly I gave up on a trailer a long time ago. It's sad but they probably need more time but then they shouldn't keep us waiting and just inform us it will take longer

Disney's failure streak is gonna continue. People are now aware that the "live action" remakes are dogshit and Mufasa will NOT do the numbers of the first. Plus, and most importantly, Sonic can do what Mufasa can not... go fast

Seriously next month The Wild Robot & Transformers One comes out next month so they better have a trailer.

The trailer will probably release the week of TRANSFORMERS ONE release because when a lot of people go and see that film they will see the trailer for Sonic 3 in front of that and getting them hyped for that, Paramount just wants to focus on TRANSFORMERS ONE first then focus on the next big film being Sonic 3 in December

i'm hopeful that Sonic Movie 3 will sweep Mufasa just like he did for Birds of Prey and Morbius. Like, who's actually excited for a prequel to the shitty live-action Lion King that noone asked for.

maybe they are waiting till after lion kings trailer so the hype for it isn't as fresh, So when they finally release the trailer it will bring lots of attention and not be too long before the movies out so people wont forget about it. If they are competing with a Disney movie that big they probably don't want people to forget about it and release the trailer too far before its release. if there is more attention around sonic then maybe Disney will move.

No, really. I’m done.

I’m sick and tired of having to put up with bullcrap like this, having no trailer for the longest time now. My last hope was put into gamescom today (as of the day I’m typing this comment), but clearly, that went nowhere. At this rate, I have no hope for this movie. Unless they pull some crazy shi and “shadow”-drop the trailer TOMORROW (again as of the time I’m typing this), I’m finished. Let them do what they want, for I simply do not care anymore.

If I were in charge, at this point I think the movie needs to drop February. Imagine a trailer drops with wild robot in September and that’s when marketing starts. It’s the smartest move. You’ve got at least 4 months of trailer marketing , plus it would be with the two biggest kids movies for the REST of the year. (Wild Robot / Mufasa). There’s genuinely no chance for success if sonic comes out on the same day, Ricardo’s right. Been saying this for a while too. Also with January and February being slow months for movies, a family movie like sonic 3 would have such an advantage for box office success. (Like the first movie). I have a feeling when the trailer drops, everyone’s gonna be hyped and then we’ll see a new release date. Some fans will be upset, but I think it’s gonna be the best for the movie 🙏🏻.

They should delay it to Valentines Day 2025 so that it can avoid competition and celebrate Sonic Movie 1's 5th Anniversary. :D

I have a reason why. It's because their busy promiting transformers one . When transformers one is released then they will start marketing sonic movie 3

We forget that now, because of COVID, we live in a time where new movie and TV show announcements now have the option to take back what they say, delay, or just cancel projects. Look at Star Wars Rouge Squadron, Wonder Woman 3, or the Batgirl movie (those may not count because of the long existing failures of the business structure at WB). Heck, the MCU Mahershala Ali Blade movie may also get cancelled or held back because of people not coming to a decision at Marvel.

Sonic 3 may very well be heading that same route as the Batman did where they show a release date and they have to delay it for next year. Movie releases aren't set in stone anymore. 😔

While I do love these movies, if the third one doesn't do well not because of the movie itself but because of bad timing, it can really ruin it for a lot of moviegoers who wanted to watch other things. And therefore if that's the case, it's best to just reboot and have it be a full on cg animated movie just like what happened to the Smurf movies. They can still keep the same concept of wanting to make a shared cinematic universe or series with these new movies and start fresh from there. Probably being more eligible to potentially crossover with other animated video game movies like Illumination's Mario movies.

Paramount should release Sonic Movie 3 on 01/17/25 instead to give Lion King space and be 3 weeks before the next Captain America.

Theory: They are waiting on purpose. Maybe they told all these people about these trailer dates. But when the dates are leaked, they change their mind. Maybe they're warming up the sonic fans while waiting for more people to find out about this movie. They are probably gonna release it in very late August or early September. This will break the internet.

A factor that is likely causing this marketing hault is the Paramount Global acquisition by SkyDance. Paramount's financial woes combined with the acquisition sets a very wobbly stage to launch a film- I reckon it is getting delayed until the acquisition and cash flow are settled.

I'm both excited for this movie, yet worried at the same time, but not for the reasons you might think.

My main worry is regarding Shadow as a whole. Despite his popularity, he's still one of those divisive elements of the Sonic series. Even in games where he is at his best, you still get overly critical critics, Sonic haters and detractors and tragically even some Sonic fans whining and moaning about him. "Urgh, stupid stinky emo edge lord! Why did they put him in this movie? He sucks! No one even likes him! And anyone who claims to like him is just wrong!"

Even back when SA2 first came out, there were critics and closed minded Sonic fans who just straight up refused to accept it and just like it for what it is. "Urgh, this sucks! All this stuff about Sonic's evil twin who was created to kill Sonic (I don't know I wasn't listening) is just stupid! Sonic already has Metal Sonic! This story is way too dark! I mean c'mon, it's about a silly cartoon hedgehog with gloved hands! You CAN'T take that seriously (unless it's SATAM, that's a dark Sonic series that's absolutely perfect!) There's too many stupid characters! Get rid of 'em and just have Sonic (and Princess Sally and the Freedom Fighters, they're a bajillion times more betterer than these lame-o's!)

I'm just worried that history is going to repeat itself. I feel like even the most understanding and fair critics will still say things like "Shadow is a good character, but this kind of dark storytelling just doesn't belong in Sonic!" I don't know, I also thought that critics were going to rip apart the other two movies as well, but I was wrong about that as the most negative of reviews were ultimately overwhelmed by the positive ones (almost the complete opposite of what happens when a new game drops), but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

The reigonal release dates also annoy me, here in New Zealand it's not releasing until the 26th of December so I'm gonna have to avoid spoilers for a whole week
