Hi Austin, I am trying your method to no avail. I am applying the foil quill with my iron set at wool. If it try to iron out the wrinkles, then lines appear and it is still patchy. I am not speeding it up and trying to take my time. It likes more like a hologram than a solid silver (using the silver foil). Any suggestions?

I recently learned why edge gilding was a thing. It repels moisture and dust, which was super important in a time. Where people were cooking with wood or coal and there was smoke and Ash around.

Your tutorial is the best I have come across and doesn’t overwhelm a beginner. Would this be possible to do with scriptures? The price of colored scriptures is just ridiculous. Almost $200 🤯. But the cover is so much softer on scriptures. You wouldn’t be able to use chipboard. Do you have any ideas on how to recover scripture? I’d love to hear your input!

I've tried to follow the steps in this video exactly, but I'm struggling with getting the foil quill to stick to my pages. It won't stick around the edges at all. I have tried working it for several minutes and it doesn't seem to work at all. I have had ok success with the middle but even still it could be better. I used the wool setting on my iron, but it seems like it may not be getting hot enough to heat the adhesive. Do you have any ideas or tips that could help? TIA!
