Get your BP checked, and take care of your self. I didn't, and suffered a stroke before my 41st birthday that left me permanently disabled. Don't be me.

I had high blood pressure for many years. I was diagnosed in 1999 I was prescribed blood pressure medication, which I took for 23 years. Now I don't have it, and the cure was potassium. I started taking it two months ago. High blood pressure is gone, the solution about 2500mg potassium a day. I feel like amazing. Potassium sources are coconut water and anything that contains potassium vegetables and supplements.

Exercise - Heart rate 90 to 100% of the anearobic line for 30 minutes greatly reduces blood pressure
Drugs - A few drops of pure eucalyptus oil taken orally tanks blood pressure through the floor
Ace inhibitors are the most benign blood pressure medication if you don't get the cough from it
Taking 2 different calcium channel blockers does work and works better than taking more of one.
Boosting calcium channel blockers with grapefruit is effective.
If you get your blood pressure too low (below 90/60) and it gets you dizzy just chug a liter of water it will go away.

My BP is 135/85. I'm a 42 year old woman with a BMI of about 27.5. I have high thyroid antibodies, mild inflammation, take HRT (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone) due to ovarian failure. I eat a reasonable diet and have lost c. 10kg over the last 2 years. I'm a bit of a homebody so I am a bit sedentary, though when I do exercise it's usually a long hike up a mountain. I don't smoke and drink in moderation. I'm on sertraline due to depression and anxiety. I supplement with Omega 3, selenium, ashwagandha, collagen, creatine, iron and vit D. Is the main fix to continue to lose weight? Or be more active regularly? Or something else?? I also have a low resting heart rate (50-60) not sure if that's relevant.

My BP was always low. I turned 60, dealt with a year of major stress, now i have extremely high BP. My readings easily spike into the 170's over 110 or higher. Been on a beta blocker twice a day since 2001 for arrhythmia. Now with high BP, I'm up to the daily allowable max of 100mg of Losartan. I can immediately tell when my BP is high - I get a headache and feel pressure in my ears. I've never been overweight, don't smoke, drink or touch caffeine. I was cycling 15 miles a day, yet still sky high BP. Wondering if I have secondary hypertension? Or, did the continued stress trigger permanent high BP? Stress is now under control, but is it too late?

I don’t want to be disrespectful, I probably will seem to be disrespectful but it’s more frustration really. There’s 3 of you there, and cardiologists too…I am expecting more from you, more info, more useful info and explanation rather than the same common sense advice that I can discuss at the bar with a friend. Honestly?! And then I see ppl bashing the chiropractors for not being “real” doctors. Well I learn so much more valid information from ONE chiropractor than 3 real doctors. Unbelievable.

i exercise for an hour every day, i walk my dogs a mile every day, the foods i eat have low sodium content, i do not eat fast food on a regular basis - maybe once a week on the high side, i am allergic to fish and more and every time i go to the doctor's office my BP stays at about 145/69. I have been checked and do not have sleep apnea but do have GERDs that affect my sleep... I take NOS supplements for working out. Yes my BMI needs to be better so i will work on that but for the most part i am really stuck and do not want to be on meds but not sure what more i can do at home.

I have noticed my blood pressure creeping up over the past years. It runs 132/65. I am under 25 BMI. Exercise 250 + minutes week. Eat 2-3 healthy meals per day with no snacks, no sugar or flour. Meditate, get 7ish hours a day of sleep. Have a dog. No achoul. Any suggestion?

Mine is a little high and I take a 10 mg Amlodipine every morning. I know that If I drop my weight, that BP comes down to normal to the point of not needing the meds. Dropping weight also equates to increasing my exercise routine so that comes into play. It works every time which is why I'm working on dropping 15 lbs now and then staying at that weight.

I have sleep apnea and a little bit of high blood pressure and A-FIB. , I find if I work out at the gym with the stationary bike, a leg rowing machine, treadmill, and circuit weight machines on low weight and 3 sets of ten, I lower my BP by a little bit especially in the mid Atlantic region where going outside is questionable at best in January and February.. I am currently looking to get Inspire for my sleep apnea which will give me more energy, lower the BP and not feel like SHIT in the morning. CPAP IS NOT WORKING !!!!
