I've never heard if purple malachite before, until watching this video.
ОтветитьI thoroughly enjoyed the video. I love malachite. I actually love the dark green of it. I love purple.... I don't love people who sell fake stuff, claiming it's genuine.
On that subject of "words have meaning" ...
Trapiche sapphire does the full wheel have to form to be a trapiche? Or is it still call trapiche even if it is just a couple of random bars?
I literally came here after hopping onto a crystal live sale in China on fb…. I assumed it was low grade Tiffany stone or opalized fluorite. When I asked & they responded “Purple Malachite”, I of course asked “Really? What’s the locality for this?” They “weren’t sure”. So I had to hop off the live and google for myself. I usually click on any mindat articles but your video popped up first. Thanks for clarifying. And for the record, there are an insane amount of people buying that stuff up at $48/kilo. Smh. I just can’t deal. 😂
ОтветитьExelent choice for a pet peeve. I love the smacking some sense into the viewer through the camera. I have seen similar shenanigans for decades from people selling opalized glass as rainbow moon stone or labradorite. I love the closing music, it brings back so many memories.
ОтветитьMalachite is a beautiful mineral. And I agree it is green not purple. Saying Purple Malachite is like saying amethyst is purple. We all know amethyst is actually pink and not that fake purple. 😋
ОтветитьIf people want to create synthetic "rocks", ok, but be honest about it. I agree, words have meaning.
Ответитьoff topic: wow are your eyes beautiful!!
ОтветитьI do hate it when people sell minerals that have been altered. like Brazilian agates for example. I do however do not have a problem with it if it is disclosed to the buyer that it is fake/altered before buying though. It's the simple act of informing the buyer that makes the difference for me.
ОтветитьCan't say I've heard of malachite being any color but green, given copper...
(Best part of high school chemistry - copper and a bunsen burner)
🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
ОтветитьThe unwanted sequel to pink "amethyst"
Ответитьooo pretty i like green
ОтветитьNot the greatest information. 🫤
ОтветитьYeah, this is likely completely man made, some sort of purple agate, or as mentioned by someone else charoite. But honestly itd be odd to not keep the charoite label cause its honestly its own unique and rare mineral in itself
ОтветитьStuff like this is why I have been so loathe to buy from anywhere BUT Mooney Fine Mineral. James is a *trustworthy* crack(ed rocks) dealer.
I only get my addictive sparklies from trustworthy dealers, damnit! My momma din raise no fool!
Kinda like the ole black onyx trick
“Black Onyx!”
NO. DYED AGATE
HOW DARE THEY!!
ОтветитьMy peeves have been petted
ОтветитьI commented before the end...there is a high school band director out there that has earned my deepest respects.

Ok, so I'm guessing no purple malachite in the Motm club 😂
ОтветитьAh, yea, NO. Copper doesn't oxidize purple.😂 But charoite forms in purple swirls.
ОтветитьMalachite is my absolute favorite. I’ve got a few awesome pieces of it and can’t wait to acquire more. ❤
