There's WAY TOO MUCH Anthony Edwards hate after Timberwolves loss to Thunder

He’s 23 and is carrying a team on his back all season for over 75 games. The only people hating him are exactly what u said. He’s more popular and loved more than their superstars.

The job of mainstream media is to digest the game for the average US&A Joes who are their target audience. Do not take their analysis seriously and when I watch their "hot takes" I always remind myself of that time Mark Cuban humiliated Skip on national TV. Jokic is still the greatest, no man in history of the game can be full-court doubled/tripled and have a 40/20/15 night. Ant is still great, Giannis is still a legend. BBal is a TEAM game and this season is a reminder of just how much that is true. Due to introduction of salary limits the league is not about superstars but how they fit into their respective teams. I am sick with comments how someone "crumbled under pressure" when they were doubled full game and it was obvious that their teammates didnt have the skill to use that to their advantage...

Well, hate shouldn't be tolerated but criticism is needed for AEs' lack of adjustment or counteract their defense. Most said face of the NBA, I don't. I think of Kyrie, he would get out of those traps, double teams. Every possession, AE was outside the 3 point line, easy trap.

He deserves harsh criticism.

May be Ant can do something to contribute in this matter, may be he can stop bullying and trash talking so much "when he is winning"... so many people wont "remember" him when loosing. He needs to mature.

I would say his unwillingness to take any accountability is pretty alarming tbh. The reason he can be shut out of games like this is because of his shallow skill set. The scariest part is how little heart he has.

Last year in game 5 when Luka came out a blitzed them in the first quarter, Ant was on the bench smiling & laughing about Luka pulling up from the logo & draining a 3. Then this year when they were getting beat up, he was despondent.

So while yeah, he is still an amazing young player & has lots of time to grow, there are some aspects of what we have seen that should be talked about. Wolves need to get him a legit play maker that can play more than 20 minutes a game. That would go a long way to helping him when defenses are keying in on him.

Ant had 30-9-6 with 0 turnovers in the single game that Finch prioritized him getting himself going first. As the leader his teammates follow him, and they had their best, most consistent game of the playoffs collectively as a team in that blowout win against OKC.

Every other game, the plan was get everyone else going first to get into a rhythm, then let Ant "get his" when the Wolves already dug themselves a hole. Finch wanted those games to start with Rudy getting passes in the post, Randle being the "point forward" and dribbling the ball backing down for 10+ seconds, use Ant as the point guard decoy to get Conley or Jaden McDaniels a good look...

Finch needs to go. This team needs a coach that prioritizes its #1 player first. That doesn't mean you can't hold them accountable or that they're above criticism, but you play to thay #1 player's strength.

Finch does not do that. He was perfectly happy using Ant to pass out of doubles to his teammates instead of scheming for ways to get Ant open and going. The Wolves need a coach that knows how to coach a superstar-driven team

I am a big ant fan but the reason people dislike him isn’t jealousy, it’s because sports shows like yourself let him escape all blame by simply saying he’s young. Anthony Edward’s is 23 years old and has played in 42 playoff games. You would’ve buried a 23 year old Jayson Tatum if he had this performance in his 2nd eastern conference finals don’t even try saying you wouldn’t have.

My problem isn’t your bias towards ANT, EVERYONE has bias towards players they enjoy watching but I could imagine how frustrating it would be for Tatum fans when year after year you have disrespected him saying he’s not a superstar until this year and before this season you ranked ANT over Tatum but then all of a sudden when the rubber meets the road you make excuses for him. You don’t get to rank a player over a seasoned veteran and then try using age as an excuse for him underperforming.

No Giannis is taller, bigger, little more athletic than Shai, but that's it. The most crucial aspect that makes Shai the better player is the clutch factor, add to that the on ball skills and perimeter shooting. Lastly his leadership is easily the best in the league.

Chris Finch got outcoached more than Ant got outplayed by SGA. Finch has shown over and over again that in difficult high profile playoff matchups, he has bad gameplans and bad adjustments. I trust the players on the team (outside the guys getting really old) way more than I trust our coach

Also, and no one seems to remember this in these postmortem discussions, but Ant injured his ankle in EVERY SINGLE SERIES of the playoffs. Go look at footage of him post game, walking to the locker room. All through the postseason, the kid is limping severely. Just because he's playing through it and playing at a high level, everyone seems to assume he was fine. He clearly was not.
