How to Rock had so much potential, but by the time the show aired, Nickelodeon was transitioning away from music-themed shows. But it baffles me how they let Cymphonique Miller (Master P's Daughter) slip away cause she had so much potential to be the next big pop star; she not only could sing really well, but sis could dance.

I don't care what anyone thinks. Sometimes, it's not just talent that gets you in the industry. Victoria Justice has natural talent, but Selena made it further. Yes, Selena is talented, but Victoria has a raspy, deep voice that can carry on a tune. All the bashing on Victoria online was sad. No offense.

What could've been if only they had nurtured Drake, Miranda, Ariana and really all they're promising young stars. I don't Drake's life would be tumbling down so much if he had a Nickelodeon-hired agent looking after him making sure he stayed on track.

Patrick has a lot of good videos but not one is credible. He gets details that no one knows but fucks up the details everyone knows. Who knows if any of his videos are ever correct

I grew up watching this shows and never really saw them for what they were. The world is really business isn't it. This people occupy the most intimate parts of my sub conscious. I had a linient mom who let me sleep whenever I wanted coupled with the harsh realities of growing up in a third world country and so I really adored this people. Learning who your heroes are can be devestating.

I'm kinda glad Nickelodeon failed but still made amazing people that went on to do quite better things for themselves

Nick Celebrities were always so bland and „beige“ compared to Disney. They always looked too old, never had a unique face and the shows felt the same. Nick was also always the cool channel with the bizarre and weird cartoons - not the cute safe zone for the whole family, like Disney. So the fact that Nick turned its back on its own, once cool image, didn’t help it either.
Plus: You can only have so many teen stars, and Disney was already so into it, Nick was simply too much.

Oh! And music in this era sucked in general, so if u weren’t a cool face/person, then really no one could get invested the slightest ;-)

I usually don’t subscribe to channels. But you mentioning taina (who I’ve never heard before) AND Romeo made me scroll up to subscribe. Just to realize I already am

While I like both channels and grew up watching shows from both channels, I always preferred Nick for some reason. I found them funnier and I liked the actors more

I don’t think it’s these studios getting their products over, I think it’s The Industry picking and choosing who will get to do double duty.

I’m honestly glad Nick didn’t go the Disney route trying to completely control their child actors/singers. The place was already hell with creeps like Dan S. running around, imagine combining that with Disney’s attempts to tie the actor’s actual names to their shows and “owning” them? Imagine how much more sickening and nauseating McCurdy’s book would’ve been if that’s how Nick worked?

It’s safe to say Selena Gomez Demi lovato and Miley Cyrus are all household names while the the Jonas brothers also became successful and Zac Efron became successful in Hollywood and Zendaya Olivia Rodrigo was pretty much the last successful star out of Disney channel.

Ariana Grande looks like she's 8 years old. If you have a crush on her somebody should give your license plate to the school board....

Actually Taina was a huge success it was the highest rated show on the network at the time and it actually lasted a year and four months not under a year it was set to have a third season and a TV movie but were cancelled because taina's actress left after being pursued by MCA Records

leon thomas or andre from Victorious is also now an extremely sucessful producer and writer that has worked with artists like Drake, Ariana, Post Malone, Kendrick and more, and even had a grammy nomination.

I feel like they handed Victoria a show out of obligation because she had worked with them on so many other things and it was “her turn” despite her not being very likeable.

I think it happened because humour of Nickelodeon is too rough, childish and too exaggerated at times, and their shows have no moral narrative, while Disney's characters were funny but they never acted like idiots, and were more mature, and well-written. It was fine with Drake and Josh, was fine with Spongebob, but it couldn't last long. Take for instance iCarly, in new season Spencer left as childish idiot as he was 10 years ago, he hasn't developed and changed a bit, same thing with Freddy and Carly they haven't undergone through any type of development, Freddy left as simpish loser as he was before but more desperate this time. If any Nickelodeon show is rebooted now same story would happen to them, they would be same old idiots, who haven't learned anything and haven't mature. While if we reboot any Disney show, the characters won't be the same as they were before, they would be different more mature people. That is why no Nickelodeon star couldn't get at a top— because all of their talent is about being idiot, whom nobody can take seriously.

Guys dont take my word for this and dont read this if you dont like dark things but there have been rumours that victoria justice refused to sleep with dan schneider or something which is why in the final seasons of victorious youll notice cat and jade get much more screen time. Also this might justify why liz gillies married a guy 20 years older than her who she met when she was only 16. She did it for screen time
On top of that, behind the scenes supposedly dan would spread rumors about victoria. This is why no one would hire her for projects. This isnt guaranteed to be true but itd explain a lot. I learned this from a video from deep dive so if you want to learn more id check them out. Just passing some info along 😅
