One of the most beautiful games I've ever played. Hard to believe a team could wrap do much amazing detail and story in a 2D platformer.

Atul hit me the hardest.... Just disappearing out of nowhere with no closure.... That is my life. My life is full of accepting hard situations without closure.... Moving on with an empty, heavy heart with no closure. I am currently working through this unhealed part of my heart and playing this game is giving me more of a drive to continue to walk on the path of healing, no matter how much it hurts.

In fact, I play it on Netflix, I didn't know about this masterpiece from E3. I know what I am getting into, and I hope to take a deep dive into the game after I past the exam. I hope the team gets a great deal from Netflix since they have a shyt load of money and the team deserves it 100%!

this is the most beautiful and moving game i cannot let myself play, becuase its themes of loss of loved ones and acceptance hit far to close to home at this point in my life... and i dont know that ill ever play this game becuase what it shows i dont know if ill survive... i dont think i want to survive it. sometimes deth is less painful than acceptance. and i owe no-one that struggle.

This game made me sob and cry about how beautiful the journey was and the little characters that made a profound impact. I keep playing this game and crying all over again in the sheer appreciation how wonderfully, and thoughtfully made this game is made. It will forever stay in my memory, i recommend this game to everyone i see. <3

This game is my favorite game in the whole world. It’s means so much to me and changed my whole grief journey, I’ve 100% completed the game and I’m replaying it now. My granny had dementia and Alice’s character really helped me come to terms with the loss. Even when I lost my dad earlier this year this game brought be such comfort and made me feel so much less lonely when grief is such a lonesome thing. Just wish I could thank all the wonderful people for the gift and savior this game was to me in my life ❤️❤️❤️

A friend of mine died this summer while I was on my way to live somewhere very far away. When I got settled, I replayed this game (I played it for the first time when it came out.). It was quite a comfort to me, especially since I was in a new place and didn't really have anyone to mourn with.

This game is art, thank you for creating this masterpiece. I’ve never cried in a game before. I saw a few of my family members that have passed away in some of the characters. I’ll say it a thousand times, this is a masterpiece 💕💕💕

Ps: thank you to all the creators for sharing your stories and memories, it’s hard being vulnerable to the world but I’m so thankful for that so thank you again 🫶🏻

Honestly, when Atul just quietly moved on without a goodbye, i sobbed. I didn't even realize he was gone until I googled where he went. I've never had a game make my heart drop in my chest like that.

On top of touching stories that feel so personally real, I love that the management gameplay is on purpose not too fast paced. It makes you accept that life should be enjoyed and not rushed. The soundtrack and visuals help a lot though, they are AMAZING

I am not much of a game player but spiritfarer has captured me so much. I was especially surprised by the very intelligent, witty and moving dialogues and character backgrounds. Some of the spirits had so many details to their personality they felt more like real people than all the super-realistic characters I’ve „met“ in other games. My favorite one was Astrid. She brought me to tears the most.

I like how not bombastic the game is. Don't get me wrong, I like games where you hunt beasts and fight gods or whatever, but this had such a chill vibe and writing that didn't read like it was written by an angsty teenager who thinks they are deep. I feel the game doesn't force itself to be deep and as a result actually is deep. A great game that I actually would recommend to anyone and the devs can be proud of themselves. This impacted me more than any assassins creed game, proving thousands of people and millions of dollars don't get you talent.

"Who is this guy? The guy that stood up, silent, and left after finishing the demo."

Camera pans to show Yahtzee's beard and glasses.

"Oh that was Ben Crowshaw"

"Crowshaw? Like YAHTZEE?!"

I've never laughed at a funnier, perfectly timed punchline.

i just finished spiritfarer around 2.5 years after starting it due to a mix of not being able to say goodbye, playing the new updates and then being distracted by life. when i started, i was 17 and terrified of life while dealing with the grief from my first unexpected death. now at 19, i can see how much my mentality towards life, death and my relationships have changed and matured and i'm so grateful for the role spiritfarer had in that.

thank you, spiritfarer is truly an unforgettable game ❤

I've been playing it for over a year. I stop every time I feel like I'm going too fast fulfilling the quests and all, and sending spirits over. I just don't want to reach the end of it. I'm hoping they could make Spiritfarer2 or another game I could jump onto when I finally finished it.

I'm a nurse and I was very caught off guard by the twist at the end of the game.

Thank you so so much. I feel like you guys have created something that feels so special to me in a way that I am having a hard time describing without writing enormous paragraphs.

You guys have made this nurse feel very proud of their profession and feel seen in a way that I was certain our society would never be capable of.

this game is really special sure sometimes it felt bit longwinded and repitive but it gave it time to really dig in to these characters. i finsihed sometime ago and i already missed it. i cant remeber names right now but the charming lion prehaps called Giovanni was my fav along whit uncle toad, he was so full of life and had a fire going on hes heart all the time. the old demented grandma also was really hard to watch and really gave me more prespective to how precious life really is.

if this game had faults my problem was i could not get into some characters and felt kinda bad that when it was their time to leave the boat. it felt bad because i missed my chance to get to know them and what to devs where trying to tell me through this character. this happend espcially whit the bat that you picked up at the lighthouse.

Still game is a work of art and i hope to play more something like it, if anyone has sugetions of a game that has a heart felt story and/or characters that has managment style gameplay i am open to hear them.

I liked the game a lot, but after taking most of the characters to the Everdoor(with only 3 left), I felt like some of the characters were overlapping too much. Alice and Beverly were the most obvious. They both had memory issues and it kind of bothered me. I felt like I was so emotionally connected to Alice because I had her on my boat first that I couldn't connect to Beverly because it felt like she was just a copy. Great game, but I won't be finishing it. I put a good 20 hours into it though. PS: The gameplay was very tedious as well.
