RIP Bruno Kirby, Ed was a fearless badass in this scene.

Billy Crystal said that the first western movie he saw in a theater was Shane ( with Jack Palance) and wrote the Cutly based on Jacks character . He was elated when Jack accepted the part.
Jack made even the bad movies better/funny/ memorable.
Bruno Kirby didn’t come back for the sequel because he was highly allergic to horses and didn’t want to take the daily shots.
