Can you use compost dirt from the garden?
ОтветитьI’m so excited I am doing a dirted tank! Thanks to you. It’s a 40 gallon. My dirt is curing in the bottom of the tank as we speak.
ОтветитьBaba Tekrar Teşekkür ederim.
ОтветитьBaba Türkçe için sosuz teşekkürler .Tercüme etmesen senin sonsuz bilgilerinden mahrum kalacağız.
ОтветитьThat chlorine and ammonia thing didn't even make any sense
ОтветитьCan I keep Discus with this method?
ОтветитьBaba ! 4 gündür TÜRKÇE ALT YAZI Brkliyorum .çünkü senin mükemmel bilgilerini kimse anlatmıyor
ОтветитьI’ve got 3 planted tanks. One with small gravel and the other 2 with sand. The two with sand can smell like swamp gas and the sandy bottom looks dirty.though I only feed them 3x per week. I love the idea of the dirt & sand combo but it hasn’t been working well for me.
ОтветитьHow long should I wait to add the fish?
ОтветитьI love your channel! I set one up yesterday using your method. If the water is murky just let it keep filtering for a few days? Thanks
ОтветитьWhat is the reason for the peat seeing that it is inert? My dirted tanks' 1 inch soil layer comprises of two parts peat, one part potting soil and one part compost. I have been thinking of doing the next one with only the potting soil or the potting soil and compost in the dirt layer or is that a bad idea?
ОтветитьHey FF !! I gladly inform you that I have added a dozen of shrimp into my nano tank and there is no casualty. It's been 1 month. This is due to the knowledge you provide !! 😊😊
Ответитьwhat about a seaweed farm? Gracilaria, Graceful Redweed, is food for humans and fish! and report says its durable food and can live though a nuke!!!!
ОтветитьThis guy sets a new tank every week. He has been in the hobby for 5 decades. He must have over 1000 tank 😂
ОтветитьI absolutely LOVE your videos
ОтветитьI did a set up just like you just showed but it was a 36 gallon. I have left the lights on for three weeks as you said to do and I have fish in there as well. I've only been feeding them very little every couple of days. My problem is the sand in the front of the tank is turning green. Do I need to worry about this?
Ответить100k subs in 2 months,that crazy,I don't think I ever seen a channel grow that fast
ОтветитьYou are best! Love from Azerbaijan.
Ответить🌹
ОтветитьHi love your videos.i have a question i have 1-2mm size gravel in my tank at about 2 inches deep could i add sand on the top of the gravel while there is still water and fish in there because i have no other place to put my fish to do the whole soil and sand thing.or is starting again the only way.
Ответитьmy daughter is starting out as a science teacher, and they have an old tank she can set up in her room that was in there many years ago. it is strange the tank is 125 gallons with a top plastic frame but no bottom frame not sure if somebody took it off or it was made that way do you think an old tank like that is safe to use without a bottom flange?
Ответитьi have a heck of a time keeping plants in my aquarium some of the fish rip them out and some nibble on them all i am getting now is dam moss growing on everything. maybe i will have to try your assortment of plants and see if that helps.
Ответить3 ft x 18 in x 18 in
11664 cubic inches = 50.49 gallons
But it's been a while since I had to use maths, lol
Question for the hive mind. I've got a 10 soiled tank, with current plants and fish my parameters stay at 0 except nitrates at 5 ppm. I found 1 dead assasin snail, and 3 hanging out at the top. Any idea what they may not like?
ОтветитьHow awesome is that! 😃&👍
Congratulations on the 200000+ subscribers 👣
Hey ff my tank is looking great thanks to you my food web isn't there yet what are your views on the probiotic flakes love from UK
ОтветитьYou responsible for my first ever dirt tank today.
Few weeks ago I bought two glo fish to learn about fish keeping maybe someday do aquaponic as i always love gardening.
So it somewhat seamless to the aquarium stuff becouse there is “natural” aquarium like Permaculture for gardening ❤
I’m confused. Here I see you do have a big filter on the aquarium, but in your other video’s you speak against a filter. I’ve been trying to set up my first FF tank (15 liters) 2 weeks ago, but wothout filter. The water is greenish from cloud-dust algue. I have only 4 fireshrimp and some snails in it for now, next to have it planted for 50%. Should I nevertheless add a filter? Is the filter only temporary till the ecosystem has found his balance or do you need to stay using it? When do I know it’s balanced? Once the water cleared up? I do have copepods in it already, which I thought would be a sign of healthy water.. Anyways, more clarity regarding yes/no and when/ how long to use a filter is mostly welcome!
ОтветитьOMG CAN GET THE SUPPLEMENTS IN AUSTRALIA NOW!! WOOHOOOOOO!!
ОтветитьHey Father Fish. I have a tank with fish and gravel in at the moment but since finding you, I have wanted to go the natural route. Could I 'get away with' removing the fish for a short time, setting up the dirt and sand (I already have lots of plants) and replacing the fish on the same day or will I need to leave the tank to establish? I remember seeing that you should leave it for a few weeks but I have nowhere to put the fish in the meantime. Many thanks for your videos ☺️
ОтветитьIn 2 days after planting those plants they grew so tall in just 2 days ??
Ответить@Father Fish can you make a video dedicated to cherry shrimps?
Do they really need hard water with ph around 7.0 or is this also a gimmick
I'm so glad we have well water. Our fish tanks thrive with it & your great advice. ❤
ОтветитьLooking good Lou, can't wait to see things progress.
ОтветитьIs there any need to sterilize aquatic plants taken from ponds river or stores, if yes then how to do it ?
Ответитьcongrats on new warehouse
ОтветитьHello sir will ADA la plata sand work as a cover for the substrate? Not sure if its very fine gravel or actually a sand. They claim it as ADA la plata sand on the description. Or could you mention the sand bag you used in the video. Much love and respect from India.Wishing you good health
Ответить💦👍🐠
ОтветитьFather Fish + Mother Nature. A Win-Win!
ОтветитьYour outfit at the end is slick
ОтветитьHow important is the soil? How important is the buffers that are added with your supplement? Without digging and sifting in my backyard for dirt, all the bagged soils in store have some sort of fertilizers in them.
Would using a mix of coco-coir + some peat moss mix and vermiculite be an OK substitution? Would it be a good idea to add activated carbon/charcoal to the dirt as well like in a bioactive terrarium setup?
How excitingly! Im going muddy with my second 5 G / 20 Ltr tank. These are small but mighty tanks with the happy Muddy Guppies of Sydney living the dream. Wishing you and yours every success success🎉
ОтветитьThank you again for all the great info
ОтветитьFrom one missionary to another, may you continue to touch lives in this hobby. Thanks for the wisdom!
ОтветитьGreat hands on video I enjoyed it
ОтветитьSir Above the sand substrate natural gravel adding is good for fishes
ОтветитьLove the new digs! Your joy shows, so happy for you and all that awaits! Thank you so much for taking us along on this journey!😁☮❤🐠🦐🪴
ОтветитьLOL.. I'm on my 3rd attempt 😢 I used Lowes sand my first 2 attempts. I now have 2 piles of substrate on my front lawn.
ОтветитьFather Fish I've been wanting to do this for quite a while and have questions. I have an existing established 20 gallon river rock aquarium that's capable of growing plants and spot algae. I don't have many fish just a 2 common plecos, 2 spotted Raphael catfish, and a tiger barb.
So using this method I can easily use my existing water & drop in my fish immediately without any issues or fear of losing fish? I would also need to add 80% more plants?
Father Fish, love the new warehouse. I can't wait to see all the new set ups. Your images for sale all have you wearing a beard. Do you think it will come back?
