What I learned at kenshi is that even if I have 99 mining level , I won’t make much money , until I start hiring 10 people to mine for me, I become rich, buy every building in the city and everything I want. Even combat is hard if you don't abuse some mechanical, if you are rich enough you can just buy lot of masterwork crossbow or build harpoon turret to take over every battle, its all about money like real life. And yes, after gaming I have to go to work for captial in real life.

So unironically my meme playthrough where I played as The Orkan Inquistion and wiped out the Shek, the free city nobles, the swamp gangs, the cannibal tribes leaders, all tge various bandit gangs, the Flotsam Ninjas, and almost every skeleton (Okran forbids going into the Deadlands so I dare not set foot there) left the world in a better state then my freedom fighter play through that Overthrough the Holy Nation and United Cities?

I want to add that the way you approached the world of Kenshi is akin to the current conspiracy theory that a cabal of people that control vast amounts of wealth that don't sit in direct power, but steer those that do in order to "make a better world." I really enjoyed you're outlook on the world state and your solutions. It was very outside the box. While I don't necessarily agree with it all that's the fun of it, and most people prolly wouldn't agree with me on anything haha. All in all, I love Kenshi and I love this video.

I have a completely different opinion about this. I feel like the Skeletons did indeed end both empires and kill all organic life, but I feel as though they did so because organic life is inherently chaotic. If the Kenshi world is full of pain and suffering for most, why should it continue to proliferate for those that cause the pain and suffering or even the victims of the pain and suffering for that matter? The skeletons attempted to make a utopia specifically for the organic lifeforms, but they failed to realize that organic lifeforms are the variable that prevent utopias from existing. Organic life kills each other for silly purposes. Organic life enslaves each other to better the lives of the the few masters.

The best ending for Kenshi is to kill off ALL organic life and leave the machines to exist all alone in the world. I think this is why the skeletons are generally neutral and non-hostile. They know that if enough time passes, organic life will eventually become extinct anyway even without the skeleton's invovement, so they choose to be reclusive and let the organic life do its own thing. They ended the first empire because it was likely ripe with problems and they thought they could start this utopian society, but when that failed they ended the 2nd empire as well and turned to a reclusive life void of interaction with organic life. The machines will give the organic life the benefit of the doubt and let things run it's course (which clearly the 3rd empire is destined to being horrible as well) as long as they are not directly targeted, but deep down they know that the only utopia can be a world of machines alone. Machines that don't need food, don't need clean air to breathe, don't need clean water, can handle the harsh environments on Kenshi, and don't have personal desires that are in direct conflict with the comfort of the rest of society,

And I...kind of agree. This is exactly the kind of objective, metacalculative philosophy I embrace and espouse. It's actually making me wonder what objective goodguys need to be pruned from a setting in order to achieve a perfected, ultimate goal. That's actually something a very logic-driven, "I'm demonstrably right" kind of antagonist would see the workd like.

Excellent breakdown and overview! Just starting out and looking forward to a very immersive and crazy time! You can earn money pretty easily, mine copper just outside a city. I've gotten 30,000 in a fairly short time, and maintained it even with a lot of purchases, including 5 companions, several at 6000 cost. I built up strength and agility early on by running back & forth with/without weight for days, and would lead enemy groups into the towns guard and join them, having one companion stay in town for rescue. I just wanted to get my group ready for venturing, I never liked building up a character and then losing them and starting over and over. But you gave a lot of good insight, so thanks for a great video!!

While I like your perspective I kinda have another theory: the 3 big factions (HN, UC and Shek) are all corrupt in their own ways, but when you visit the criminals in the swamp, the tech hunters in their outposts of even the chill guys in Flats Lagoon, they seem to be thriving and respectful of each others business for the most part, save some swamp gangs. I set up a nice hemp farm right at the frontier between the Swamp and Shem and while I resorted to Hash trading at first, eventually my armor and weapons are so well crafted they can compete with Catun and Armor King, plus I can reach most major zones from that location, make peace with the secouded skeletons in the deadlands and siege Catlon with enough prep. A nation rhat resorts to slavery is never to be allowed being the leader of progress and growth because they will always hoard any growth for themselves. A warmonger society is also a threat to all including itself. I say we end both the 3 big factions aswell as Catlon, and the fishking to boot. Build a few outposts to protect the freed slaves, help out the flotsam rebuild their religion as a new form of Phoenix, rebuild the Hub as a central and truly free state and give the tech hunters the reigns, while also forgiving the skeletons if they promise to cooperate. Real world already has enough nuance, lemme save kenshi by peeling slavers and nazis please.

This video shows me that the Holy Nation, despite all their shenanigans, fears and prejudices, is actually the most enlightened principality by virtue of its prehistoric myths. They are the only humans with any idea about what came before, and are the only ones with a chance of making it in the future, at least in my eyes.

Best Kenshi is solo Kenshi. Did it with a female Scorchlander. Once you get both dex and str up a falling sun annihilates things (though getting Meitou might be a tad harder than other weapons lol)

Im gonna be real, the world you described would become one of stagnancy. One where theres a potential abundance, but still ruled by warlord and oligarchs.
Where the evils of the world are justified in the name of collective survival with the constant churning of the masses to the meat grinder in the name of "progress".
As soon as justification for slavery was indicated by ANY MEANS you loss me. The lore may be on point but the assumptions of the future if the Holy Nation and United Cities are destroyed are strangely bleak, im aware power struggles and such would ultimately occur but promotion of the status quo but with less steps isn't a solution. The world of Kenshi needs to change and maintaining factions such as the Holy nation just because its been around a few centuries isn't progress. Killing a few slavers but not dismantling the faction in its entirety isn't progress either.
You don't have to become a demagogue to change the world and discounting your own faction's importance in history while still stating they must kill x and y seems like railroading.

Seems like this game needs an influence spread system, a way to introduce reformation through non-violent means, spread songs of embettermemt and flexibility.

I agree with you about following a moral compass is pure hypocrisy that leads to injustice anyways, and to make the kenshi world a better place for organic life, tough choices are to be made, but what if you don't follow a moral compass? That's the current gameplay I'm going for, what if you "weed out" every faction? If there's fewer people, abundance in shelter and food is to follow; if there are less threats all over, security slightly increase in the long-run; sure, we have bandits, cannibals and beak-things, but what if those are also wiped out? If there's no one and nothing to remember the first and second calamity, the third one might as well be the first, but given the drastic fall in world population, that will be a concern for generations in the far future.
Unconditional genocide is also a viable solution, at least in kenshi world.

I don't think that Sheks needs to be eliminated. Esata and Bayan have prove us that there is an upcoming shift in Shek culture. As they propagandizing less mindless violence. That's why Esata have declared all of the extremist groups an outlaws. They don't want openly hunt them. Instead The plan is to people start to shun them thus making the changes about extreme violence permanent. You can see the tides changing already in Squin where all of the store owners are glad that they have age of peace and even some of the guards have started to see the benefits of not being in perpetual wars. Thus, we witness the arguments among the guards in Squin with minority of guards want to go against HN again while majority trying to convince them otherwise.

Probably doesn't need to be said, but Both the Hive Queens need to be kept alive to prevent more fogmen from popping up. Speaking of the Fogmen, Maybe having a Shek Kingdom around could be useful in detering the fogmen until a proper counter measure could be found. Speaking of counter measure, I would like to add that Bugmaster needs to be captured alive as he may of been the one to create the Hivers under the orders of Cat-Lon so he might have knowledge on how to better deal with the Hivers.

I dont know man im a an atheist and i struggle to leave a religious cult like the holy nation alive. Not that the shek kingdom is much better, but at least they have a good leader atm that is trying and will proably fail to change the shek kingdom. I would say kill them all. Leave the tech hunters. Techonology is the only hope long term to saving kenshi.

Cause of the second collapse was the Okranite rebellion who formed the Holy Nation later on, their rebellion pushed Cat-Lon to madness.

Cool and all but I wanted to live in peace and I sent a character explore the holy nation with the holy flame just in case. Frogot about prayer day back at my mine and I was branded a heretic. Nothing brings me more joy then having inquisitors crucified around my peeler when I put High inquisitors in the peeler.

I think you missed a few things that will cause the Third Calamity. And would be guaranteed by wiping out the Shek Kingdom. There are two 'factions' that will end all life in Kenshi, arguably along a long enough timeline without intervention.

The first is the Bugmaster, If it were not for the Shek throwing themselves into the meatgrinder, the Skin and Blood Spiders would consume everything. Best case scenario they will only live the the swamp/moist zones. Which would most likely spiral out into the swamps and make their way up Okran's Pride and the floodlands. The Shek are already in a dicey position, without player assistance they most likely would collapse due to their already dwindling kingdom. Without the players aid the Bugmaster will never be killed or captured.

The second are the Fogmen, unlike other Hivers these appear to be a queen-less hive. I am pretty sure Mongrel is singlehandedly culling the Fogmen's population levels to a status quo at best of times. But they do seem to be expanding as their patrols can end up in the Vain as well. Mongrel may collapse all together being so heavily isolated and surrounded on all sides. The open farms of the Holy Nation would be overrun in days, only cities with heavy walls with Mongrel would in theory be able to withstand the swarm. The worst part is that there is no in-game way of defeating the Fogmen. They are an endless spawn.

The Third Calamity is already approaching.

This moral stuff is hella complicated. I'm gonna do a Kenshi playthrough where I just recruit every single person to ever exist into my faction via mods.
