Never had an issue finding Balmora in my first playthrough. There are signs. Read them. Or better yet, just go to the giant ass bug and hitch a ride there. The guard gives you more than enough money to make it.

So if anyone who hasn’t played Skyrim yet somehow found this comment then let me get you in on a little secret, there are two easy ways to get the tusk for Ysolda. 1 which revolves around using money, go to Belethor’s store and he should have a tusk in his inventory, or if you want some EXP and your patient, go to the closest giants camp by whiterun, Bleakwind Basin. There’s a giant pillar there, sneak and climb on top of it, the giants and mammoths won’t be able to reach you so you can keep shooting arrows at them, they still have a lot of health but while you level up that can be a different story cause you can put your skill points into archery and you’ll level up your sneak too.

ES5: "There's a cave hidden benea-- aw hell, I'll just go with you."

Pro tip for anyone doing Ysolda's quest there's a mammoth tusk that you can steal from the bannered mare in whiterun and just give too her

While I already had mammoth tusks at chests in my home, I just bought one from Belethor's to finish that quest. Wonder why Ysolda didn't do that herself lol

I have fond memories of Morrowind. Played it a lot when I was a teenager.
Which is exactly why I never want to play it again. It's aged like milk and I don't want to spoil those memories.

Even though I got into TES through Skyrim I played the other games as well. To be honest I like the no quest marker and reading text approach in Morrowind. Feels more like an RPG and makes you explore more instead of just running from A to B and back.
