You can even save some of that Education money by signing up for free educational websites like Khan Academy. They do have a paid membership option, but you can still learn so much there for free! By the way, they have multiple courses on financial education (both micro and macro.)

All the high yield savings accounts that I have found require a minimum of $25,000.00 deposit. I buy CDs instead. The main thing not to do is never waste thousands of dollars on crazy tattoos. If you spend $1000.00 on some lunatic tattoo like so many of my co-workers, the money is lost forever. The same amount could have bought a CD and the money would still be yours and earn interest besides.
