Will you be buying a headset powered by Android XR? 👀
ОтветитьVirtual XR stands for "Cross Reality" = aka X Realityy... Get it? 😏
ОтветитьThis is not good. Vr is getting fought over. If meta wins then we lose alot of game devs. If android wins then we get low quality games. If valve wins then it will be pc exclusive. And if apple wins than we won't get anything. It's a lose lose situation. We can only hope that it becomes better with time.
ОтветитьI have no opinions seems ok the new vr toy 🎉
ОтветитьDon't forget, Google doesn't just give their OS away at no charge, they use the data for their primary business. It will be no different for XR devices. This is a problem as it will be über invasive at a very intimate level; even more so than phones. This (Android XR) is good news on many levels, though, as it will spur innovation. Will this Google/Samsung device be great out of the box? I'm sure it will be quite nice, but it will be just as the AVP is doing now....taking the first steps to get developers on track and mastering the hardware. Most, if not all that was shown, is able to be done on AVP, and done extremely well. Lack of games is an issue? That was not a mistake, it was on purpose. Quest is blasting along pushing the envelope on their headset tech and will do extremely well in the future...but it is not a productivity device, and that is a problem. Having maps on the Android XR was impressive - but it is not in the car so we'll have to see how the experience is laid out. A +7 on delivery and being unique enough.
BTW: the 'creepy eye' thing on AVP is actually a great UX adaptation – I teach XR and IxD, so I do know a thing or two on the matter.
i dont have any quuestions
ОтветитьIt looks like Google hired all the engineers that worked on Apple’s Vision Pro.
ОтветитьvisionOS or AndroidXR? 🤔
ОтветитьCan't wait to try it, only for it to be axed.
ОтветитьIf the VR headset is as light as possible then maybe it could have success and also the price tag. Maybe a $2000 tag could make consumer be interested in product more than vision pro and meta. Higher quality but not breaking the bank price.
ОтветитьGreat move. The fact you can play games from Android is already a good thing. Also Gemini is pretty good ...i used Gemini live and it's so creepy good , and it be cool to have a virtual world with Gemini 😅😅
ОтветитьXR = Cross Reality 😊
ОтветитьIt will fail
ОтветитьWe need more innovations and attempts this is great news! AR glasses will take the cake though!
Ответитьfor the amount of times he says "moohan" with an 'a' as in 'hand', should of just used the english translation 'infinite' it's quite annoying/jarring each time he says it and is distracting af. It's 'han' like 'Wuhan' or 'towers of hanoi' or just 'an' (en | un).
ОтветитьIm super excited for the Android XR platform. Having Gemini more readily accessible will be amazing, can't wait!
ОтветитьMeta already is making Horizon OS available for many different companies, so Android XR will have to compete with Horizon OS
Ответитьgoogle nowadays is way different than 2008 google. it’s commitment to these kind of projects is questionable at best
ОтветитьNo real hardware, only render...
ОтветитьI hope the price will be as high as Meta instead of Apple
Ответитьthis is just gonna be another dead end project that google is gonna kill off
ОтветитьThe straps needs to be changeable, basic specs of 120+hzs, micro oled screen, eye tracking and actually vr content
Ответитьi just want them to bring playstore to quest ughh, im not investing in anymore google vr stuff, they broke my heart in the daydream vr days, maybe glasses thoo, but hmd no unless they use quest
Ответить...only to be abandoned in 18 months 💸
ОтветитьI currently have the Meta Quest 3 and Xreal Air Pro 2 devices. I'm also invested in the Samsung ecosystem with their phone, watch, Buds and Smartthings. I'm not interested in an HMD but would upgrade to a pair of AR glasses. Let's go Samsung!
ОтветитьGood to see some standardization but I want to see AR in glasses to help replace a hand held smart phone hands free but screen visible for translations on the fly and directions plus other smart phone functions in the real world with head up and hands free. ANything else is for gaming or entertainment. Nice but not truely needed as soon as AR glasses
ОтветитьAs a Vision Pro user I’m stoked for more competition in this market
ОтветитьI give it 3 years before it's discontinued
ОтветитьThey should make it part of Android and support 3rd party glasses. If it requires a specific device, it will fail.
ОтветитьI think the biggest hurdle these types of devices face, is simply that they have to be :::worn:::. I have no issue with picking my phone up a hundred times a day, or looking at my watch or a monitor, but even the most comfortable set of over ear headphones isn't going to stay on my head for very long. It's also not the type of thing I'm going to strap around my head on an as needed basis. When they can project the XR view in front of me with something like a small chest mounted laser pack, I'll be fine with that. Until then, they can keep their barely wearables.
ОтветитьMentioning every vr headset out there without saying that it looks exactly like quest pro.
Ответить"Too little, too late" in an emerging market is a crazy take 😂😂😂
ОтветитьI like to pick what I want rather just have a one set os
ОтветитьIm guessing guy never used a meta quest 3 with hand tracking navigation enabled....not flawless but much improved and doesn't require gloves or controllers ..just sufficient lighting
ОтветитьProject Wuhan is what it sounds like. Does nobody else hear that?
ОтветитьAR glasses is more practical nowadays. Just like that Ray-Ban.
Ответить🐮han
Ответитьis this by google or what
ОтветитьMeta left the chat..
Ответить18 moths life span, however the glasses i may look into 🥁
ОтветитьAnd how long does this project last before it get terminated. XR still have long way to go, only believers like Meta will stick around, not Google.
ОтветитьCan't wait for the ads on this thing.
ОтветитьeXtended Reality...gotcha
