The air powered dancing tube man (or just tube man) is a device consisting of a cloth tube connected to a small wind machine with air outlets at the far end of the tube.
It is a promotional device placed in front of businesses to draw attention to the business from the street. It can be found in front of supermarkets, car washes, automobile dealerships, or any other type of commercial establishment. It is a highly effective way of increasing buisiness by drawing customers' attention towards the property.
The concept was originally created by a team of designers for use at the 1996 summer Olympics. They called their design the "Tall Boy".
Doran Gazit, one of the designers, patented the idea and lisences the patent to various manufacturers and sellers of the device.
