That's a heck of a cast....

I love the humor when Chaucer is explaining (to the audience) who Edward is, with Wat interrupting him because back then who the hell didn't know of the Black Prince?

well King Henry 8th suffered all his life from a jousting accident, Later on in life people who came close to him said he smelt like rotting flash and that was because his leg was rotting after he took a lance to the leg. King and princes jousted and you didn't back out just because they were royal

What a pair we make, huh? Both trying to hide who we are, both unable to do so. Your men love you. If I knew nothing else about you, that would be enough. But you also tilt when you should withdraw... and that is knightly, too.

I love the way Edward calls for his lance.

People often only see the trappings of leadership., the perks, the rewards. They do not see the burdens. Few can even comprehend the incredible weights that often do crush people who are called to lead nations. For all of his faults, and Prince Edward often called the Black Prince, had MANY faults, he did what he did for his people. 'Fun' is not something that happens often to people in such positions.

His expression when he seeing William charge speaks volumes. When Edward is ummasked, he knows he will dragged back to the castle for meetings, reports and all the rest of the wonderful parts of even medieval bureaucracy. Edward had been trained as a warrior from birth, but no Englishman wanted to face him in open, fair combat, for fear of what might happen if he got hurt and the king found out. (Attacking the heir to the crown was never a good thing, btw)

The William gives Edward what he wants more than anything else. Just a 'moment' all for himself. Small wonder Edward does what he does later in the movie.

Hands down this movie is amazing .... 5 out of 5.. 10 out of10....the bees knees.... if any single person disagrees then you are a shitty person. There I said it.

Love this scene. Prince Edward is dejected when he realizes he's been found out again, but then the crowd roars and he looks up to see Ulrich bearing down on him. He smiles and excitedly calls for his lance. He has to catch up to Ulrich. Then later, he agrees with Ulrich that it's not in him to withdraw either, but sometimes it happens as Ulrich granted him mercy when he had to withdraw earlier. He's letting Ulrich know he hasn't forgotten the kindness.

This movie gets a lot of undeserved flack. It's largely unlike anything else that was going on at the time, and it shows.

The opening announcement here sounds so flustered for a reason. Colville's herald is frantically trying to match the performance just put on by Chaucer, William's herald. But he doesn't have a knack for improvisation, and he literally only just saw Chaucer work, so it's not going well.

I always thought that James Purefoy would have made an excellent James Bond.

a movie which kicks of with We Will Rock You cannot dissapoint :p

This tournament could be an episode in itself if this was brought back as a series!
