I'm pretty sure if they used Archer's Theme for the intro and Faith of the Heart for the outro, the show would've been more well liked. I swear people heard the intro and cringed and it was downhill from there.
ОтветитьPick a side. It's good but it's bad, it's bad but it's good.
ОтветитьIf anything the final episode should have been the one with reed and the proto section 31, it has a lot more in common with that tng episode than the story they told instead
ОтветитьT'pol was Obnoxiously HOT.!!!
ОтветитьI was the only one of my nerd friends who liked this show back in the day. I thought it was a great story, and overall a great show. Jolene's multitude of plastic surgeries were a bit distracting from the story for me though...
Ответитьthat tech issue could've been fixed easily, those temporal factions where Federation claims to maintain timeline, yet when it benefits them they turn a blind eye could have been an interesting angle to take
ОтветитьEnterprise is so so much better than any recent trek. I miss trek like the 90s and 00s
ОтветитьPrequel was the wrong way to go. Problem was that this left them stuck in a box. No surprises really possible as a result.
ОтветитьAll I had to do was hear the opening theme of this show to turn it off.
ОтветитьUnlike other people, I love Seasons 1 and 2. That may be because I watched them before I watched a majority of TNG, DS9, and Voyager, but in my opinion, Enterprise seasons 1 and 2 are what Star Trek is at its core. The Broken Bow opening scene is the first-ever scene of Star Trek I ever watched. It's not the first episode I watched in full, but I will always remember the opening scene of Broken Bow as what brought Star Trek to my attention and what I consider to be the scene that made me a fan. Seasons 1 and 2 are more down to Earth, more relatable, because they're closer to us humans than these seen in TOS or TNG, as you mentioned. Season 3 is a great season, but I will always fondly remember Seasons 1 and 2 for that.
Season 4, on the other hand, feels more like a series of TV Movies than a TV Series. I never really liked it. Sure there are some standout episodes, but sadly it feels more like an abrupt swansong than an actual season of the show. Demons/Terra Prime always had a weird placing to me, being packaged between the underwhelming series finale and the mirror universe two-parter. Like this, it feels like we're going back and forth between different versions of the crew, which doesn't really allow for saying goodbye to this crew. Season 4 dealt more with truly human or other familiar conflicts, being mostly set on Earth or on human colonies, space stations, outposts, etc. Sure they go to Vulcan, Andoria, Quo'nos, and so on, but these just tie-in with human conflicts or trying to explain plot holes. I missed the stories about exploration, encountering new stuff, deiling with alien species, etc. and Season 4 really only had 1 episode which triggered this feeling inside me, 1 out of 22. Every time I come back to Season 4, it felt like the crew was trying to relive the old days of before the Xindi conflict, much like the first 10 films. If this series would've been renewed for Season 5, I think it would have been mostly the same. But I really hope it wouldn't have been.
Great trek franchise. Truly horrific theme tune
ОтветитьI've gotta say, as a woman who casually watched TOS as a child with her dad, avidly watched TNG and DS9 as a teen, and fell off when VOY became all about 7 wearing catsuits, low stakes and time travel shenanigans, I saw Blalock's prominence in marketing as "sexy like 7, but Vulcan" as a major red flag. I watched the pilot when it aired and the odd episode, but T'Pol as sex kitten was always a major turn-off for me. I never could get into this series.
ОтветитьFor the record I believe the Congenitor episode was very thought provoking. You should watch it again when you’re older (wiser). It’s far from “god awful”. I watched it twice now. Both times I reflected and considered what I would have done in Trip’s shoes. That’s what good writing should do.
ОтветитьR.I.P Manny Coto
ОтветитьIt sucks enterprise got ended the way it did
ОтветитьI actually liked Nemesis.
ОтветитьLOL clutching your pearls when a beautiful women is sexually objectified in a piece of media! hahaahaha! ooh nooooooos
ОтветитьWait.... They crowd funded THIRTY-TWO MILLION DOLLARS and UPN said "Nah"?? They were sitting at $800k per episode, that could've funded 2 seasons, if not a really high quality final season..
ОтветитьThese reviews are really great:)
ОтветитьAll prequels are evil. Hate all of them.
ОтветитьJust another show. That's all.
People should just enjoy whatever episode comes on. All this talk about "the cannon " is silly and childish. Science fiction is literature enjoyed for what the writer decides is important. Roddenberry was no Faulkener or Hemingway.
Best thing about Enterprise is Combes. I have to differ in my assessment of Archer. He speaks to his crew like garbage, he is such a bully and rude
ОтветитьStupid UPN execs cancel the series…. Huge surprise
ОтветитьNorth Star was still the best episode of season 3.
And anybody who disagrees is nuts.
This show was great, but that intro music was so awful.
ОтветитьLol, people complaining about view screens while watching it on a cell phone.
ОтветитьIts unfortunate, because Coto was really making Enterprise the show the fans wanted to see - filling in the backstory in the Star Trek history, showing the Romulan War (one of the major events we've never seen and have only had hints at). I'm one of the Xindi ark haters. If they had done Season 4 as Season 3 it would have probably saved the show. Instead at the time, everyone was asking "Who the F are these Xindi??? Where the F did this come from?" Xindi was just a huge breaking of cannon for a lot of us and pushed away a lot of fans.
ОтветитьI really liked StarTrek Enterprise some actors that were characters in the STE are my favourite actors
ОтветитьI’ve always felt that T’Pol was underrated. I mean she was one of the key figures in the early success of Star Fleet. Had she not spoken up during that mission assessment panel, Star Fleet operations would have been grounded to earth orbit or the local planets for another hundred years. She proved her worth time and time again. There was simply no need to have made her into a sex object. I was fascinated by her back story. The Vulcan high command originally chose her to accompany Enterprise with the expectation that she would be their faithful watchdog over Archer and the crew’s activities. Instead, she ultimately proved instrumental in overthrowing the corrupt V’Las government, affording Vulcan society the opportunity to move in a new, morally cohesive direction. It’s just unfortunate that T’Pol was introduced into the Star Trek canon so late because not only would she have set the tone for human-Vulcan relations before Spock but given the long life-spans of Vulcans, she would have certainly still been alive during TOS. As I recall, T’Pau was still running the government on Vulcan when Kirk and Spock went back in Amok Time.
ОтветитьI understand that Paramount owned Star Trek and they had the UPN network but I always thought if they would have just done first run syndication the show would have much better off. UPN was so small and hard to find an constant affiliate in the 90's and early 00's
ОтветитьI hated the idea of a prequel series, but found I enjoyed it quite a bit when it started. That is, until the third season, which was clearly just 9/11 in space, and a lot of depressing episodes followed that abandoned the hopeful atmosphere of the first two seasons. I have to believe on some level they hoped it would bring in DS9 fans who had been disinterested in VOY and ENT up to that point, but it was all wrong. Season 4 was the best season of ENT they made, however, but by then it was clear the ratings had dropped and the season came to an inauspicious fat Riker end, where the whole show turns out to have been just a dream all along, I mean a holodeck program.
The people in charge after ENT concluded compounded their mistakes with a darker, more action-packed vision of Star Trek with more prequels and reboots, instead of going farther into the future with a more hopeful, intelligent franchise, so we now have the current schlock that isn't even recognizable as either Star Trek, or even good storytelling. They made the same mistake they made with Stuart Baird in Nemesis by hiring JJ Abrams who like Baird didn't know or care about Star Trek. And thus Star Trek ended with this show.
But while it lasted, ENT was a great, if final, addition to the the Star Trek franchise, with a great cast and compelling characters, and some really excellent episodes. Shame it didn't get to do what it wanted to do over seven seasons. They should have ditched the third season concept entirely and instead focused on forming alliances and introducing the Romulans sooner. Oh well.
I enjoyed enterprise greatly - the sexual themes on females mentioned by you were easily ignored by me. I had zero interest, so kinda mentally checked out at those scenes. I find them incredibly boring. I always cared more for character writting/personality etc.
ОтветитьT'pal and Trip, as couple, should have more previous intentions that would lead them to their end...
Professionally looks like they are always in add with each other..
Now, why I don't see more Astronouts in a space series....?
ОтветитьEven Cristopher Colombus came in the name of the king and Queen of Spaine, actually, from Castilla and Aragon. And when they came, they dud in navy shops no more different than what the ones being in use by the navies of those European powers... thus, my questions us, b which part of the Earthly world, does Starfleet represent...? I meant, I still get to see a character with a strong French accent. Even Pavlob Checkov, had a Russian tone of voice...; now, by in Archer timeline, these characteristics seem to have disappeared....
ОтветитьIn my opinion, as good as it is, the Stargate, is still close to our date; thus, it should show a reality more repeatable to the viewers, after all, it shouldn't be more than 200 years in our future, give and take....
ОтветитьI always liked enterprise as a series but that song is just so tacky and in a very "cheap American tv" way , it really felt out of place.
Ответитьi think it's so lame and funny to act like star trek should be "above" hot women and sex.....go watch the original series.....there's plenty of it there and i'm pretty sure way more guys watch star trek then woman so why is it bad? it's like some fake moral outrage to sound like your more evolved or something. just stop it with that bullshit! She's fucking hot....what are they supposed to pretend she's not? she's also a great actress in that part and she herself said you can have both sex and good storytelling. i'm sure at the time they didn't think their early season stories were that shitty. and btw. cogenitor is a decent "star trekky" type episode with a great ending.
ОтветитьWhen they added the instruments to the theme song, it made it worse.
ОтветитьThe fact the ship had a grappling hook, was ridiculous and dumb.
Ответить1 -The Next Generation
2 -Deep Space-9
3 -ENTERPRISE
4 -Voyager
5 -The Original Series
6 -Picard
7 -Lower Decks
8 -Discovery
That's how high
Enterprise should be on a tier list
Enterprise is painfully underrated. All treks firat seasons are poorly remembered. Its usually season 3 onwards that really pick up and Enterprise was no different. It just wasn't given chance to get even better. That said i think season 4 of Enterprise is one of the top 5 ever full seasons of any trek
ОтветитьI guess I'm in the minority. I loved the show. Star-Bulletin cowering to the Vulcans was irritating but the show in general was good.
ОтветитьI really enjoyed this show, the opening song IMO is absolutely horrible and it makes me cringe every time I hear it. Sets were excellent and acting was solid, getting to see the infancy of Starfleet was a real treat...
