Problem with this kind of video is that it's always showing some of the least demanding parts of games. Ur 4790 will shit the bed everytime something actually happens.
ОтветитьRtx 3050 vs gtx 1650ti
ОтветитьI have the 4790k paired with a GTX 1080 and 32gb of ram but it was retired some months ago. I started to feel its age back in 2020 but didnt get a chance to update my rig until recently.
I went from a top end 1150 system to a top end AM4 system with a 5950x, 128gb of ram and a 6800 XT with no upgrades inbetween.(yes, I skimped on the GPU on both because I mostly play smaller less demanding games like timberborn and trailmakers)
Chances are, I'll end up using this ryzen system for at least another 2 cpu release cycles from AMD not counting the current 7000 series.
only stopped using my 4790k last year with a 1070
Ответитьi had this cpu and a msi gtx1070 with 32gb corsair 1600mhz until 2 months ago. ive played pretty much everything on high at 60fps- now i upgraded to ryzen 7 2700x
ОтветитьI am still using this CPU + RTX 3060 12GB that I had to upgrade to cuz my GTX 980 died. If I were to change the CPU, I would have to replace the entire PC, as my ROG G20 has a custom motherboard and I can not just instal off shelf ITX motherboard in the case. As far as I am aware, 4790 is to top CPU available for that socket anyway and I don't plan to overclock.
ОтветитьI have 4790 paired with RX 5700 XT. FSR does enough to boost FPsS on this GPU
ОтветитьWhats the reason that i7 4790 can't run windows 11 ? Please someone tell me.
Ответитьh81 motherboard and 4790 wtf
ОтветитьIs i7 4790 discontinued?
ОтветитьI had my Haswell build until mid-2023.
Despite having upgraded to AM5, I still have a huge affection for this socket that gave me so much joy.
3,6 GHZ NO 4
ОтветитьWhat Windows are you using?
ОтветитьI wonder how the i5 equivalent would hold up in 2024? I can get a Dell prebuilt with a i5-4590 & 8GB RAM for $50 Canadian, depending on the PSU & if it could fit a normal width GPU (instead of needing a low profile) then options on my local classifieds currently are a RX 470 or GTX 1060 for $40-75+ Canadian, while lower power cards such as the GTX 1050 Ti or GTX 1650 start at $150 Canadian. If a Low Profile card is needed then there's a Radeon HD 7730 1GB DDR3 or GT 1030 DDR4 for $20-25 Canadian however those would pair poorly with a i5 and would be better off with a Pentium, or something older such as a Core 2 Quad with me having a OEM Socket 775 board that used DDR3 in a slim/SFF prebuilt with a Pentium E6600 that I plan on swapping out with a C2Q Q9400 with either of those GPUs, likely the Radeon HD 7730 DDR3 unless I pick up the GT 1030 DDR4 also though I think the GT 1030 would likely be better paired with a slightly newer/more capable CPU at least.
ОтветитьI've upgraded last year in 2023 to an I7 13700k with an expensive Asus ROG Maximus Hero motherboard. I still use my 4790k w/ Asus Z97 Hero PC as a family workstation. It is still relevant as an everyday PC and moderate gaming rig.
I will say that having the IVR on the CPU like Haswell did make latency pretty much obsolete. I didn't realize that the new Intel CPU's relocated the IVR back to the motherboard - hence even with a SSD the 13700K just doesn't feel as snappy and responsive as my 4790k.
I'm just upgrading my 4770k/GTX 1660 Super gaming PC from 2013. My wife has questions, since I play the latest Assassins Creed in 1440p 60FPS with FSR balanced.
I even dropped in an RX6800 last year, and now can play 4k 60FPS.
People overestimate how much CPU you really need, or the 4770k w ddr3 1333 is the best CPU ever made
Im running 4790 with 1060 6gb 1tb nvme 32gb hyperx ram probs worth maybe 3/400 quid but still awsome after 6 years now..oh and a asus z97 pro gamer mobo..its what you put together not just any parts thrown in
ОтветитьAFAIK you would actually get better performances with an RTX of the 20XX series because the PCIe slots on this board are 3.0 x16 so using a PCIe 4.0 card forces the access down to x8.
ОтветитьMy first ever proper pc had a i5-4690k and gtx 970 it was an amazing combo back in 2017/2018
ОтветитьReally goes to show how much gamers overspend on CPUs
ОтветитьHey buddy
You used any external gpu??
I still game with an i7 3770 in 2024 but use an evga rtx 2060sc 😅😂
ОтветитьI still run i7 4790k and gtx 1080 for 8 yers
Ответитьsus that Bryan from Tech Yes just made a video about this cpu hmmm....
ОтветитьIm still gaming with this Cpu paired with 12gb ram Rx 480 4g,framerate capped @50fps you can play almost any game on medium settings which is not bad considering the age of the setup.
ОтветитьI'm still on i7 4790 paired with gtx 1080. Perfectly fine, but will look for upgrade
ОтветитьNice video
ОтветитьI still game with my i7 4990k paired with gtx970 since 2015. Works good
ОтветитьAre you using any gpu with it in game test?
ОтветитьJust paired an i5 4560 with 6750xt.. got a big improve in fps in robocop game. Almost double. Next step to replace i5 4460 with i7 4790.
ОтветитьJust replaced the 4460 in my old PC with this chip. May replace the existing 1060 6GB with something more suited. I also replaced the 450W PSU with a 650W Corsair unit pulled from another upgrade project so power consumption shouldn't be a problem. It's a pre c*vid Lenovo prebuilt that originaly came with a 2GB 960. For the original 2015 price (£600) it was probably the best value PC I ever owned. I may also get a better cooler. Who knows. It got thoroughly cleaned so it might last a few more years yet.
Ответить4790K 4.6Ghz + RX580 8GB seems like the best combo for me
ОтветитьI have a 4790K and a Gtx 1080 ti and a 4K monitor. I will buy a Rtx 5080 when it releases and i will continue using my 4790K for 4 or 5 years more. In 4K gpu does most of the work and there is only a little bottleneck. My Core i7 4790K system will serve me for a total of 14 or 15 years. Now that's efficiency.
ОтветитьI’m still using a i7 4790k with a rx580 4gb and still playing older games and some newer ones at 1080p with around 50fps. I’m happy with it while I slowly work up collecting parts for a newer build.
ОтветитьI have two such Systems with the i7 4790K for my kids each with a GTX 1080ti 11Gb , both playing on 1080p ❤ and it’s running perfect . 🎉 Each with NVME and AIO
ОтветитьStill running it has its moments of dips in fps but overall still have great gaming experience with it.
ОтветитьPaired 4790k with GTX1080 and overclocked both...kicking A S S
Ответитьwhich gpu will be better pair from xeon e3 1230v3 gtx 1660s or 2060s
ОтветитьI've got 3 of those I7-4790's. One is in an HPZ 230 with a 400W PSU and a GTX 1060 and runs good on the older games I play around with. I've got 3 other HP machines I may turn into cheap gaming rigs. Thanks for sharing this video, I like the channel content, liked and subbed.
ОтветитьMostly skipped over the Wells, except I had to upgrade a system with a 2600k to a 6800k when the motherboard died. It died the Sunday before Black Friday and the sales convinced me to pull the trigger on an upgrade, instead of waiting a week for a replacement motherboard.
On the 2nd hand market, I have come across a handful of Haswell processors and even the i7-5775c. I was amazed at how the 4790k takes to 32GB of DDR3-2400 cl11 RAM and it will still overclock decently well. The secret sauce is overclocking the cache.
The most amazing CPU I've come across from the Wells is the J-Batch versions of the i7-5960x. I got one that I was able to overclock to 4.7GHz and it could hang with the RTX 3080..... but thermals are quite high.
I game on a 2008 i7 920 in 2023 (soon to be 2024).
ОтветитьThats me 😂 I have the i7 4790k and rx570 xd
ОтветитьI still have mine and using it for my 12 year olds rig. It lives on!
Ответитьgreat video
Ответитьddr3 2400mhz -???
ОтветитьI'm still running a 4790k with a EVGA 1070 SC Black and it is perfectly fine at 1080p. Ran a 4590 until this year (2023) and it was serviceable, but was definitely showing it was long in the tooth. You kind of need more than 4 logical cores these days IMO. Will be rebuilding my system with a much newer, but still 5 years old motherboard/cpu/ram because I lucked into them for free. Probably wouldn't bother upgrading otherwise until there's a reasonably priced significant upgrade to the 1070 or its 8 gigs of vram is too small for something I want to play. Feels like we're getting well past the point of diminishing returns on PC for gaming and expense is just going up. My 10-ish year old system feels night and day better than a 10-ish year old computer did in 2013. Go back another 10 years before that and they wouldn't even be able to run most basic software that was a decade newer than the machine without trouble.
ОтветитьI have the Xeon E3-1231 v3 (which is basicly the 4790 without the igpu and clocked a bit lower) paired with an Rtx 2060 (r9 380x previously) and it served me well for many years, but I am thinking of upgrading soon, as it is quite a bottleneck for me these days.
Also as a warning to people building PC's now ... if you want to upgrade your PC in the future, dont buy tech standards that are on the way out. I have to basically buy a completly new pc to upgrade, since this cpu and the 4790 were the last of the 1050 socket and a newer socket also means DDR 4 / 5 ram instead of my current DDR 3 ram.
Still got a i5-4570 here, recently upgraded the GPU to a 3060 RTX from a 970 GTX. I can basically play everything, although not on totally maxed out settings though ofc, and in 1080p. I'm about to upgrade to a 7950x3D soon, or maybe a i7-14700 - not sure yet. I fear that i might run into cooling issues with the Intel, the AMD is a little bit better there... my 4570 though is so absolutely cool, i wish all CPUs were so efficient. That was such a great line of CPUs!!!
ОтветитьIm running it right now i7-4790/32gig ram/rx570shappire/xpg500gig-nvme(adata sx6000lnp).
I ran older titles on a Gigabyte Z97x Gaming3 board, no overclock and she still runs snappy enough, but you can feel she's an old girl ..she is in service nearly 10 years now 😌.
kind of a faithful server with 7 drives
