October 1/22,no more ArriveCan!!
Ten winters,I did my time!! 🥶🥶
Virtually no mountains..😂
ОтветитьGreat video about what Winnipeg has to offer! I was born and raised here, and we tend to get (and give ourselves🤷♀️🤦♀️) a bad rap, but we have an amazing arts and culture community, gorgeous natural spaces all throughout the city and the province, and amazing, fun, creative, friendly people (for the most part).
One recommendation I would give is to avoid the Human Rights Museum, as it's an absolute travesty that half a billion dollars was spent on an eye sore of a building that takes away from the natural setting of our beautiful Forks, and highlights people (most of whom are not Winnipeggers, or Manitobans or even Canadians) who have fought for human rights and are already very well known, when we have so many extremely vulnerable people in our city whose rights are continually ignored and trampled on!!
Instead, spend your time and dollars enjoying our natural spaces, or our small businesses, boutiques, small art galleries, dozens and dozens of festivals throughout the year, and our plentiful low-cost and even free activities.
Get out of downtown while you're here. Some suggestions: Assiniboine Park, Kildonan park, Fort White, Oak Hammock Marsh, Louis Riel house, and so so SO much more!
Thanks much for highlighting our little city with the big, creative, fun-loving heart!
The city is as beautiful as it is heart-rending. The (new) mayor and council have their work cut out for them in cleaning up the obvious, long-standing problems of poverty and crime. Beyond that, it's a city with "great bones" and could literally go either way at this turnpike.
ОтветитьWe get two extremes plus 40 in the summer to minus 40 in the winter.
ОтветитьPlease I have not seen snow all my life can you invite me to come and see please
ОтветитьDon't forget the highest crime rates in Canada!
ОтветитьPrairietown on the edge of Flatland:- one very good thing about Winnipeg is that there are no hills there which makes it easier to get around! 😊
ОтветитьPretty soon they will be adding a new cultural festival ...crime fest! Held downtown and in the North End.
Ответить-40°... fvck that!!! No thanks
ОтветитьPeople talk about the cold but few talk about the intense heat 😅
ОтветитьThe fact that this is a positive video about Winnipeg (oh and I've never heard anyone refer to it as the Peg), is a give away that it was made by some one who does not and has not lived in this crappy city, and I say this as a person who was born in this crappy city and have lived here for all 52 years of my life.
Ответить4 murders in one night, don't forget that?
ОтветитьThe winter doesn't bother me. I've got to visit!
ОтветитьI not saying Winnipeg is cold but when I went to the Forks last winter the warming huts on the river were closed because it was too cold. People in Winnipeg understand the cold.
ОтветитьI’ve lived in Manitoba all my life (I love Winnipeg!) & I can’t remember seeing shorts outdoors when it’s colder than -15c. I have, however, seen snow fall in June, and in September.
I love the film-making scene here, and if you do too, definitely check out the Exchange district. And if you love theatre like I do, come in the 2nd half of July for the awesome Fringe Theatre festival, where you can see over a hundred different shows.
Winnipeg means in Ojibway "dirty water"
ОтветитьWinnipegger here. Pretty decent video and good info *in general*.
Couple of things:
1. Canada has two official languages, English & French. That’s why all signs in Canada are bilingual (by law). It’s not a Winnipeg thing.
2. Pretty close on the winter thing, but it left the impression that winter lasts until
May. Not so. We usually get our snow that stays for the winter (as opposed to falling & melting) around the middle of Nov. and the spring melt usually starts in March. We’re usually golfing by mid-April. But yes, sometimes we’ll get a freak snow as late as June, but anything after mid-April just melts within an hour. Winters can have a couple of “cold snaps” each year that can last as long as 2 weeks, but those are the extremes. Usually not nearly that cold. The good news is, when it’s cold, it’s also brilliantly sunny, and the streets are bone dry. When it gets warm, it’s more cloudy, and the streets get messy. I prefer the cold, sunny days (within reason!). Go Jets Go!!!
Madam your presentation is nice and you look beautiful😍
ОтветитьUgliest city in 🇨🇦 😂. Run by indians and filipinos
ОтветитьIf you come for winter, I suggest the last two weeks of February. The days are getting longer and warmer and you can check out the Festival du Voyager, the second biggest winter festival in Canada celebrating the French pioneers, Metis and native fur trappers and traders who plied there trades along the banks of the Red and Assiniboine rivers and many other tributaries and lakes from Thunderbay to the the northern territories of Canada. It's a fun filled two weeks.
ОтветитьAs a former "Pegger". I've been gone for 10 years and the dominant language is now Tagalog. Since so many Filipino people now reside there. Also, the Peg has the most festivals in all of Canada during the summer months. Thanks, for your kind words. ❤👌
ОтветитьI have read most of the comments and I can hardly find any positive ones
ОтветитьYeah there is a reason why it's so cheap ... it's because crime is so high. It's living in Chicago in a ghetto. It's probably cheap.
ОтветитьVery good video for sure
ОтветитьA genius piece of the peg.
ОтветитьFishing is really big here year round as well, as well as cycling!
ОтветитьWinnipeg is the city of all chain restaurants
ОтветитьI wanna get merry with a blonde girl.....
ОтветитьOh my gosh, all the political stuff in this video was annoying
ОтветитьWinnipeg sucks! I stay only because I was born here and rent is more affordable than anywhere else! Extremely cold 6 months a year. People here are clicky and boring! No cool place like Granville here! Downtown sucks and dangerous. Need a car to go to beach or camping as everything is an hour away from city. We at least can go to liquor store till 10pm unlike Ontario that shuts down liquor at 6pm. We can buy beer till 2am at hotel vendors, not in Ontario! Lots of violence here!
ОтветитьI live in Winnipeg! 🇨🇦
ОтветитьShes obviusly paid by government
ОтветитьWinnipeg is a shit hole. Hi crime, poor roads, cold into may, downtown is a joke. Only positive is cottage company but sadly lake winnipeg is one big toilet. Once a beautiful lake but province and city ruined it.
ОтветитьThe last time I was in Winnipeg was more than 42 years ago - before you were born. 😄
ОтветитьI will love to visit 😉😊
ОтветитьHi
ОтветитьI used to live there, it's a lovely city and the people are so friendly. Nice to go through memory lane. I would just say you need to learn how to say Tagalog correctly
ОтветитьDead country canada
ОтветитьJust to let you know that I was born in Winnipeg and it is known as the "PEG" not pig . I have never ever heard that expression except by you.
ОтветитьI moved out of WPG in 2004 to Poland and it was best thing I ever did. Everytime I return to WPG to visit family the city is worse and worse. High crime, too many immigrants, tents and homelessness, wokeness, LBGT BULLSHIT, high prices, etc. But I guess that is all of Canada
Ответить🤍
ОтветитьDidn't mention the majestic Mount Royal Hotel or the historic Sutherland on Main Street.
ОтветитьWho in there right mind wanna live in Winnipeg?
ОтветитьHell no to arrive can
ОтветитьHey, got a smoke?
ОтветитьI go there every day and no I don’t live there but I do live in Manitoba like a hour away from Winnipeg
ОтветитьCheck it out in January!
