Yulia’s Journey From Philology to International Relations

In this episode of the Hayat Podcast, we have Julia, a specialist in the International Cooperation Department at Ural State University of Economics. Julia holds three degrees: a bachelor’s in philology from Novosibirsk State University, and a master’s in translation from Tomsk State University.

She finds motivation from her hardworking family upbringing and the desire to keep learning and experiencing new things. Julia recently took up swimming and enjoys challenging herself, like attempting to get a motorcycle license, as it makes her brain work harder despite the stress. Next on her list? Skydiving for that life-changing experience.

As a child, her parents loved traveling to former USSR countries like Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. She has traveled extensively, including trips to the Netherlands for a dance world championship, volunteering in Germany for "Work for Peace," and exploring France. In Russia, she’s visited Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tomsk, Sochi (her favorite due to its palm trees and sea breeze), and dreams of visiting Kamchatka, Vladivostok, Kaliningrad, and Nizhny Novgorod.
