Another great guitarist not included in the fake list "250 best" from Rolling Stone magazine.😢
ОтветитьI remember seeing JA in Warsaw @93--played a tune called "Slo Sco"
ОтветитьGood god is that deep!and the time less song
ОтветитьListen to "Timeless" from 1973.
The title song & the album are must-hears for newer & older ears.
New Directions also had
a great couple of ECM releases
w/ Abercrombie, DeJohnette, Eddie Gomez or Dave Holland (bass) & Lester Bowie, of The Art Ensemble of Chicago, on trumpet. Saw them once live in Eugene. Outstanding show.
Jack always makes it look so effortless
ОтветитьTo These people are fucking aliens.
ОтветитьThey were really a jazz supergroup. I think Abercrombie was overshadowed by being a contemporary of John McLaughlin - undeservedly. He did fantastic work under his own brand and tons of collaborations. Fine composer. He is on so many of my favorite recordings.
ОтветитьGreat stuff.
ОтветитьI've seen this group four times and they delivered. I miss John Abercrombie he was always my to go to guitarist...he had it all may he rest in peace 🙏 🙏 ☮️ !!!!!
ОтветитьGenius
ОтветитьApart from some wicked good solos with Miles Davis on Cellar Door sessions, DeJohnette's long, inventive solos with Gateway are my faves.
Ответитьfantastic players. (Empty seats - can you believe it?)
ОтветитьBrilliant, imagine having seen those guys live :)
ОтветитьSimply amazing..!
ОтветитьCaso exemplar de músicos extremamente inteligentes que exercitam o brilho mental durante a feitura musical. Meus heróis de ontem e de amanhã.
ОтветитьSaw Abercrombie on shrooms in the mid 90's. Needless to say it was one of the most wonderful live performances I've ever experienced.
Ответить
Abercrombie plays fast and interesting, and without a pick. Wow, just wow.
ОтветитьI can listen and watch this tune over and over, and every time I hear something new. John's non-linear playing is amazing, and I love Dave's driving bass line and Jack's incredible drumming- he supports the tune with both strength and subtlety. I was so fortunate to hear John live several times in addition to following his music for several decades. Miss him...
Ответитьmaybe I know nothing.........but man, there is a lot of scofield similarities......in a great way!!
ОтветитьGlittering sprightly waves over profound depths. Superb.
ОтветитьGreat stuff
ОтветитьRIP John Abercrombie
ОтветитьJazz for Jazz. No showmanship scam. Just pure notes and spaces.
ОтветитьDejhonette. Unbelievable.
ОтветитьI have no idea how John Abercrombie flew under my radar for so long. Phenomenal player...
ОтветитьWhat guitar is this?
Ответитьstill love it!!
ОтветитьI'd forgotten about this guy. He's better than I remember. Or: better than I knew.
ОтветитьRIP
ОтветитьBell, expressiu i preciós.
ОтветитьDream Guitar. Nice Bass. Best Drummer ever. Enything else? 🍄
Ответить♥️Superb Trio...RIP Big John, Higher ispiration to me and generations of guitarists. His guitar sound rocks thought in a fine evolute jazz way...think he was among the First - John MC Laughlin did It too - to do this before Pat, Mike, John. Jack and Dave Absolute Mastership in rithm section among the best players out there
ОтветитьQuelle sensibilité !
ОтветитьTrue Masters!
ОтветитьNot just one but THREE master craftsmen
Ответитьthat was great
ОтветитьJUST ONE MORE REASON WHY MR ABERCROMBIE WILL ALWAYS BE ON MY TOP 10 GUITARIST LIST..ASTOUNDING..
JOHN ABERCROMBIE :1944-2017 /THANKS FOR IT ALL SIR...
Gateway put on a great show......... This is good too
Ответить🎵❤️💯👍🏽
ОтветитьCan anybody identify that custom Tele with tremolo/3 pickup comb?. John could make any guitar sound amazing... I know that for a fact--got to see him several times.
ОтветитьI keep coming back to this video again and again. Must have heard it fifty times, at least. Still can't figure out exactly how or what Jack is doing to make it all happen.
ОтветитьVery nice. Abercrombie's time is super fluid here.
ОтветитьDeJohnette and Abercrombie, what a team!
ОтветитьThese guys are pioneers...in tucked-in Hawaiian shirts and nerd jeans.
ОтветитьPuikiai!!!
Ответитьholland genio
ОтветитьDave really blows the doors off the place with that solo in the first tune WOW
ОтветитьAbercrombie thought(played) very unorthodox..in the coolist way!
