If anyone does or keep doing vanlife all their reasons are valid. Anyone leaves vanlife for any reasons their reasons are also valid. Following your dreams is a great goal, and sometimes those dreams change. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next for you guys!

Great to live in a van with a mobile office, kitchen, shower and bed, but doing that with someone else would be hell, because of the lack of personal space. Living in a van or caravan is freedom from the system and people, no point taking all that with you and living in a tiny space that's cluttered all the time. Alot of young people do it these days to get away from the high rents and mortgages. Traveling all the time is more like an extended holiday.

How did y’all get bored of van life after only 2 1/2 years? You’ve barely scratched the surface. I’ve never made a single van life video and been traveling full time around the US first 13 years, mind you while taking a vacation to Southeast Asia every 3 months. But I still love it, and there still so much to see. I do about 100,000 miles per year here. I beg you guys to give it another go! There way way more to see. Get your NPS app out and start getting thors stamps too lThanks for making good videos 👍🏻

People are quitting van life because they thought it would be cheap and easy. Nope.. life is life regardless.

You just trade one set of troubles for another set of troubles. There are still costs and you still need to make money.

Just think ahead. When you hit the age of 45 you're physical needs changed drastically.

Im not quitting! I love it. Im out of debt. Still work and can go to see my family and travel. I love my freedom, peace, joy, healing, nature, so much more! Im not going to quit. I'm meeting awesome people! The majority aren't quitting but it's definitely not for everyone! Everyone has a legitimate reason for doing it or quitting! To each their own. Either way enjoy life how ever you choose too! Im from a long line of military family, we are use to constantly being moved so it's in my blood!!! I personally don't know anybody whose quitting. May we all found out place, peace and special place. Every day is a risk, things will happen whether we're in a sticks & bricks or on the road! I just hope & pray everyone finds their happy place!! Ive been doing it 4 yrs and soon to retire! I will stay in van life!

Growing up I was one the road back and forth daily between divorced parents: Tuesday, Thursday, and every other weekend.

When I was 30 I stopped paying rent and traveled by motorcycle, tent, and duffle bag year round for almost 2 years and saved up money.

After that I bought a house and have been trying to live a normal rooted life.

I’m thinking about getting into vanlife now, because that seems to be a happy medium for me.

Lets be honest, my husband of 35 years use to go camping with his best friend for about a 5-7 year stretch. They both knew about the packing/repacking/organizing their gear and campsite. This would be a frustrating way to live for more than a few weeks. A real motor home whether a class A, B, or C would still be easier than a small van.

The next point is our generation is between the older boomers that have been motorhoming for 2 decades and now this late millennials/Gen Z that picked up van-life as a semi hippy life style. There are advantages to each of these life phases but for most COST is the limiting factor to delay to retirement. ROOTS are a big factor in dropping a nomadic life, having a place to call home and stop moving is peaceful. FINALLY, these things become over saturated in our culture, those that started early or mid stream of popularity were able to catch the potential money train of view and endorsements. Now this phase of making money from it has peaked and popularity.

The gentrification of van life is heartbreaking. The essentials get more expensive when companies see that van life can make a large profit from rich kids wanting a change in scenery. Imagine a portable stove you’d rely on for cooking food suddenly going from $30 to $90 because Kimberly wanted to travel across country and escape her upperclass gated community. Now you have to budget your already strung-thin resources to buy that.

I don’t think I’m going to get burnt out on Van life because I’m going to make sure my rig is nicer than any place. I could live in the only difference between living in a house and living in my rig that I want there to be is that I have to empty my waist out of my out of my 50 gallon black water once or twice a month my rig is supposed to have a bigger fridge than I have ever owned. It’s supposed to have a nicer stove than I have ever owned. It’s supposed to have nicer more functional space than any apartment I’ve ever ever been in that’s the point. Ing for empty rooms filled with no furniture that cost more in utilities for no reason

Like I’m doing this to get rich I’m gonna buy a $10,000 lot put another 15 in it to put an incredibly secure fence around it a little bit of gravel, car port ,full hook ups the whole 9 yards the initial box truck I’m buying is going to be on a loan and I’m not taking my van out on the road until three or four years into my career when I can start doing remote work. I plan to buy many apartment buildings millions of dollars real estate, I’ll be living in this van from extremely cheap piece of land in a state. I like to another extremely cheap piece of land in a different state I like.

This is why I know I need to be there because I’ve never had a single person encourage this and when I think about the prospect of this no longer being popular and me being out there among a very few that are still doing it, it doesn’t change my mind at allif I never met a single interesting person on the road, I would still want to be out there

Started in 2020 with a truck and RV trailer, been a little over 4 years now and Im at a point im unsure what change to go from here

Stay nomadic in USA with a box truck?
Travel internationally but have even less stability?
Get an apartment for stability but have these travels as only a memory?

Quitting vanlife feels like leaving a form of heaven,
where can i stay that is more prosperous than to travel?

I think the biggest dillema is my dog, who had been attacked by a pitbull at a rest stop years ago and is now defensive when dogs get in her face - which leads to them attacking her again.
Thats been a continuous fear for us both, leashless dogs while camping out in the wild or especially parks/trails - its an uncontrollable nor predictable space.

Do we stay nomadic for the joy of seeing new horizings,
or do we get a stable home she can live safely in a fenced back yard?

In my case van life would probably suit me. Because I’m an introvert and a lot of my enjoyment comes from growing plants and being on my Onewheel and having a dog. Plus, as long as you have stink, you can game and have social media. Plus the way, the economy is going having living expenses are under $1000 is robably your best bet for survival.

I'm not sure i could do van life specifically because you have to keep moving and the uncertainty of where you'll park next or if people will hassle you, unless you're bouncing to different campgrounds. Living in a van can be more sustainable, living with less. Sure. I think constantly driving places makes it less so. I'm probably in a minority but in my point of view world traveling is not necessarily virtuous. It's a luxury people enjoy, sure. I don't wanna come across too judgemental, but i think the mindset of needing to travel to seek fulfillment is a bit oversold. I like relaxing in place, having stability, and putting down roots. I think this type of stability can make room for growth in other areas.

It's not a choice for many in Australia. I see vans, RVs, trucks and cars parked in every beachside town carparks I've been through. You can see some don't even move. In one carpark near the beach that I frequent is full of vans, trucks, two buses, and cars with tarps between them. They never leave. I presume their vehicles are unregistered or broken. Further down, a big bus just moves between three spots in the area. He's been there for 20 odd years. I saw him as kid and still see him there now.

Van life died in the 90s. some try it bit American life has changed, I did van life in 80s, every state park could have cared less if you pulled on the side of the road. mon thru friday popular areas were quite, stores had no idea who was in parking lot, vans were built better and easily serviced anywhere in country. on and on. over run , regulations laws, rules like all of america has gone to shit. also there was a van code of life which is gone now as well, Vanner in trouble you dropped everything, lent a hand an ride, hang out waiting for a fix, cook dinner, watch the kids . it really was a family. that being saud you will cherrish your memories and years from now when you revisit area . amazed at changes good or bad
