Every Illumination Movie Ranked

Regarding the Vector Grim-walker theory: Ok i came back to here because i randomly thought of it. Even if illumination made a mistake which im hoping for i thought this theory would make sense as well. Vector is a robot. Because in despicable me 1 vector eats a robot cookie thinking it was a regular cookie and even notices but keeps eating. Why would a human keep eating circuits and metal and find it appetizing. Unless Vector actually doesnt know he is a robot and his father built him or hired someone to do so. I think it deseves to be looked at but its illumination lmaoo

I still really like both Sing movies. Johnny may be one of my favorite modern animated characters beyond Lightning McQueen

The Grinch has always been one of the most interesting phenomenon with movies for me. Somehow two different people made Grinch movies and then had the exact opposite problem. Ron Howard’s Grinch has a really grimy Whoville and misses the point of the story by having the Whos antagonize The Grinch first, while Jim Carrey just absolutely kills in the title role. Like, legit, my family still watches The Jim Carrey Grinch to this day because of how memorable and iconic he is.

Illumination, on the other hand, manages to capture the spirit of Whoville being this wholesome and sweet Christmas town, but has the most milquetoast and uninteresting Grinch they could have made. Like, I seriously don’t know how they managed to make him such a boring character. You’d think the people behind Despicable Me would have at least gotten The Grinch right in making him a total jerk, but he’s not even really mean or cranky. They just make him… some guy, really. There’s nothing memorable about their Grinch movie at all.

How can he always remember the actor names but never the characters themselves

I thought the first sing was pretty good to be honest.

honestly i think i only just enjoyed the lorax as much as i did as kid probably for the same reason i've always loved star wars episode 3, that being, Anakin and the Onceler are hot.

I know I am infamous for liking movies that people consider to be bad like HOP or Cars 2 but I also hate movies that people consider to be good like The Lorax and Encanto.

Hop is weird because i watched it in theaters when i was very young. Honestly i can see that it’s awful awful because not only did i get SO BORED during it I also don’t remember a damn bit of it. I remember other movies I saw at that time but not Hop. It’s just gone from my memory because it was so boring to me as a kid.

EDIT: I didn’t realize that i wasn’t that young when this movie came out. I was already in school by the time of its release. This movie sucks.

The lorax had so much potential and its sad because you can tell the studio just forced them to dumb it down, the original song "bigger" and the background singers of "How bad I can be" chanting things like (capitalism?) words, the people who wanted to make this truly wanted to make something great, and powerful, and deep, like the book.

I really like cars 2 because although the real substance might be lacking, it’s just a silly fun spy car movie, whereas minions makes me feel sick

Ill admit tho that i probably only like cars 2 as much as i do because i watched cars 1 and 2 when i was little so i just have high nostalgia

never liked illumination. i don’t get why these pandering, dated, soulless, pop culture referencing hacks get so much money. the grinch is my most hated movie from them because it’s illumination at their most annoying

If Disney Animation Studios were a rapper, they would be like Logic. You wouldn’t be able to tell if they were trying or not.

If Pixar were a rapper, they would be like Eminem. They are great, but one bad project screwed up their whole legacy.

If DreamWorks were a rapper, they would be like Kanye West. Great creator, ok storyteller, loved by all.

If Studio Ghibli were a rapper, they would be like Kendrick Lamar. Many stories to tell, beautifully done, barely any slipups.

If Sony Pictures Animation were a rapper, they would be like Chance The Rapper. Except, this time, their worst project came before their best project.

If Blue Sky were a rapper, they would be like Roddy Ricch. Mostly boring, doesn’t try too much, loved by a few, just kinda exists.

If Illumination were a rapper, they would be like Lil Pump. Never tries, so derivitive, best project was their first one, gets everything they want anyway.
