I think both Beverly and Eddie couldn't overcome their problems from their childhood as adults because they lost their memories of Derry and therefore also their victories over their parents.

Sad thing is about abuse victims

((Eddie and Beverly))

They tend to go to abusive relationships it's sad but it is true

Imo they were all equally strong in different ways, except for Stan ofc lol. Plus there's a reason Bill was the leader. He was always facing down the bullies, IT, and pressing forward to take IT down. Mike is great, but that's only one time. Also, their parents were the ones who decided who moved and who didn't. Great review tho

why do so many people complain about the sex scene with the losers yet seem completely fine with all the other crazy stuff in the book. why do people cherry pick things to complain about.

Isn't that scene in the last hundred or so pages of the book? You took a break then? I honestly wasn't super bothered by it ... definitely could have gone a different way with it but it was the author's choice.. I thought the scene was very overhyped by other reviewers to the point I was afraid to even read the book and when I actually got to it, it was just a few pages and I was expecting much worse. I don't know.

pennywise feeds on faith, the realization and belief that there is a monster, the fear is just the salting that he enjoys, whenhe bit off georgie's arm , he planted the the proof of his existence in georgie's mind, then georgie began to realise and have faith in the existence of IT, this faith is IT's food, he doesnt need to consume the bodies. In the movie they diverged a lot, they turned IT into some alien instead of a cosmic eldrith entity

Great review. Derry does survive the end of the novel and is rebuilt. Whether that means It survives too or just that the town has become haunted or maybe a portal into a larger haunted universe is up for debate.

You should probably read Insomnia by Stephen King sometime because in many ways it is the spiritual sequel to It although also a very different story.

I've never really understood why "that scene" is particularly controversial when all the Patrick Hockstetter stuff exists and is FAR more disturbing.

When I was in high school in the early 2000s, people started having sex around 14-15, so... a group of 11-12 year-olds who have been through more than most adults could ever hope to survive with their sanity intact wandering around through miles of pitch dark sewer with their heart rates probably at least 150 and standing on the frayed edge of sanity after a psychic battle with a multidimensional terror having a series of sexual encounters to try and remain sane just.. never really bothered me at all.

The last half of the book felt rushed to me. IT is revealed to be a space spider, and a space turtle gives the kids special psychic abilities, bruh what?
Then you have bullies and their creepy masturbation scene, why? And of course the loses child sex orgy? I’ve heard different interpretations, but all fall short. I think Steven King is a weirdo that needs his hard drives checked.

Yes EXACTLY he feeds off their fear not their bodies much like John Wayne Gacey got a sexual thrill just from the kill itself and seeing their victims in fear. The kids who were missing only a bite out of them or an arm or leg may have been so scared Pennywise was full enough off their fear by the time he got to the body he didn’t have much room left until his next feast.

There’s two reasons why they forgot about each other in the whole thing in general. 1. This is a sign of a trauma response. People go through traumatic things and completely forget about it. Their minds block that trauma and sometimes it can be triggered back by things, like the five senses, smell, touch, see, etc. they all kind of remembered it when Mike called them. His voice, and him saying it is back, remember the promise. 2. It can be the “magic” IT/derry. Mike still remembered it because he was living in that town. Living in his trauma. But he also said he was forgetting bits and pieces of what happened. But wrote everything down in a book so I think during those 27 years, IT, makes you slowly forget about everything. But triggers it back when is the 27th year, but not the Whole memory. It makes sense why the older folks who live there don’t do anything or don’t really react because they kind of have dementia of the “curse” derry has.

Thats one thing i really didnt like about the new it ch 1 and 2. For me its that they water down all the actual horror elements the adult versions go through. Especially Mike and they could've played up how his confrontation between Pennywise leads him feeling outmanned and outgunned how he's being constantly watched and slowly going insane not just with the feeling of Penngwise watching him but also finding out all the horrific stuff that happened in town also the people Mike actually meeting the few people in Derry that have experiences with Pennywise and the evil supernatural occupancies Mike can associate with him. It's like a Noir thing because at the same time multiple children are going missing or being found dead they just fumbled his potential angle into horror so hard.

Pennywise doesn’t get nutrition from their body; he gets his nutrition from their fear. So, leaving dead bodies here in there, creates more fear in the town of derry which is also what Pennywise lives off of

I don’t know what scene you’re referring to repeatedly but in my experience saying you’re “not okay with” something is akin to saying something is “problematic” and that almost always means woke and that’s why I unsubscribe ten minutes after subscribing. Sick to death of woke mediocrities.
