My Aunt and Uncle had a bright red 90’s Suburban. That car is damn near 30 years old and has survived countless Minnesota winters. It’s a rust bucket now, but she’s still running strong. Now I have a 2016 Suburban and hope I get as many miles and memories with my family out of it.
ОтветитьWait wait wait wait. Nice might not have been in America but it had elsewhere. Cars like this are specifically why Europeans saw American cars as junk.
That being said. Gotta love these old things.
They still ok then. Not as good as before ,but still ok. Seems like a long time ago now. The 70s and 80s ,even the 90s were way better. The 70s were the best. You could fix anything at home unless you had an automatic transmission
ОтветитьRESPECT THESE SUBURBANS! I had a green and gold one it was great!
ОтветитьCan we get a vid on the next generation suburban? Also a 1st gen Durango, why where they so bad for mpg? My literally bigger/heavier 2005 Suburban Z71 has better mpg than the first gen Durango.
ОтветитьThis was our family car when i was a kid. My dad took out the third row to have more trunk space. On long road trips us kids would all sit in a circle in the trunk and play board games, super unsafe but good times 😄
ОтветитьThere. Right there. This is where it all went wrong. This shouldn't have been the standard. These should be kept off road where they belong
ОтветитьMore old school classics please
ОтветитьIt's funny when Doug said this is not luxurious. For the time the dash and overall interior was very elegant, even without the leather seats. I personally think the interior of these mid 1990s Suburbans was more welcoming, more elegant than todays Suburbans or Tahoes. Sure even back then it was a very expensive vehicle.
ОтветитьHere in Germany we would call it a tank!
ОтветитьHoly s*** it’s clean
ОтветитьMy dad bought one of these in '05, indigo blue metallic with tan leather seats. He wanted something to tow with and a Suburban just so happened to be the best deal on the lot. We towed a camper with it once or twice every summer and got a whopping 7mpg while towing, but it had a hefty 42 gal tank. There's only four of us so roadtrips were comfortable and everyone had their own space. Ours had barn doors but the hinge on the right side door (of course the main one to open) broke so he had to keep a block of wood in the trunk to prop it open. We would keep a stash of restaurant crayons in that "secret" drawer in the center console. I learned how to drive in this thing! He had to get rid of it a few years ago because every summer the a.c. had to be fixed (something about tubes leaking in the roof?) and he couldn't deal with it anymore. I always say if I hit the jackpot I'd love to restore one of these to brand new.
ОтветитьI love these large big V8 4x4s they're awesome
ОтветитьI too am really nostalgic for this era of American family cars. I had a diecast of one of these with opening doors. I think mine was made to look like a fire chief vehicle, but they were also produced as NASCAR diecasts with the paint schemes of the GM drivers. Pontiac drivers had GMC Suburbans instead of the typical Chevrolet-branded ones.
ОтветитьIdk… this car SCREAMS a white trash family. Mom is named deb or Debbie. They all smoke and eat twinkies at the same time. The obese father is in the front farting and the whole family is laughing about it…. McDonald’s cups and trash everywhere…
ОтветитьMore like a 90s family bank account raper.
ОтветитьI grew up in the backseat of a 2000 and a 2002 silverado, they had their differences to this, but seeing one their predecessors and how this evolved into what i grew up in is pretty cool.
ОтветитьThere’s no cars like Suburban ❤
ОтветитьMazda MPV and ford Explorer family here. Suburbans were definitely owned by families with “more money”!
Ответитьthank you good videos lam enteresting .pleas letel sloly to ander stand every theng you say thank you agaen
ОтветитьMy dad gave me a purple 92 k1500 when I was 16. When I got it there was a lot of work that needed to be done; the transmission was ruined, ac system was (and still is) inoperable, the engine never made goofy noises but it burns oil and had multiple vacuum leaks. The dash is hanging by a thread. It's so fun to drive, though and it taught me everything I know about working on vehicles. I couldn't place a value on that truck.
ОтветитьOnly in America was this considered a normal ‘family car’. It’s so laughably enormous, it’s the size of a bus!
ОтветитьWe had one. It was huge but perfect for family trips. Parents in the front, my brother and dog in the second row and i had the third row. Id lay down eating mcdonalds and listening to my offspring cds.
ОтветитьGot 1995 k1500 two tone matte black/green ===inside is 🔥🔥🔥🔥this guy is ok, however this a bit——-hing suv mr.Phelps is his name
ОтветитьI would have been born in the 1992 which is incredible to see a chevrolet suburban in the year I was born ❤
Ответитьmy buddy had a 7.4 suburban 2500. That thing was sweet. RIP Big Red
ОтветитьShortly after my younger sister was born, my parents bought the 2002 model new which looked similar on the inside. They were able to put an in-car VCR and DVD player which was so nice on really long car trips. it replaced the dome light and climate control piece and combined them all into one central "hanging" console.
ОтветитьLet’s point out how this thing is as long as a limo
Ответитьmy parents had a 2500 slt that thing was awesome
ОтветитьI think these are nicer than anything made today … and it has an iron clad, bulletproof pushrod V8 that doesn’t have that stupid fuel management BS
ОтветитьTony soprano agrees
ОтветитьChevrolet suburban is full size suv
ОтветитьThis is kidnapping suv from America
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьThe Suburban will celebrate 90 years of existence next year(2024). What a milestone. I don't believe any other make has been around longer.
ОтветитьIs this guy making fun of me because I was born in 1990
Ответитьits crazy how far cars have come.
ОтветитьMy aunt and uncle had this exact same green suburban in the 90s and was a big part of my childhood growing up whenever I would hang out with my cousins lol
ОтветитьBall cooler
ОтветитьThese trucks were the best
ОтветитьMake a video comparison of this 1996 and a 2024 suburban
ОтветитьI was Born in 97 the 5th son and 6th child of seven. we had a metallic light blue late 80's GMC Passenger van. it had 2 seats up front and 2 rows in back with space for one more row. we had that thing until at least 2006.
ОтветитьSize of the suv compared from then to now… gotten a lot smaller an more expensive
ОтветитьEven today that’s my dream car
ОтветитьDrove one of these from los Angeles to grinnel Iowa twice, the 5.7 had plenty of power to conquer The I-70 grades through colorado and was a comfortable ride the whole way. Obviously the mpgs werent that great but great memories nonetheless
