The way the dragons breathe fire is similar to the Fiery Blowhog.
ОтветитьIt isn't "wrong" to use "Dragon" as a general group classification, just different. I recognize that people do it naturally, calling just about anything scaley, serpentine, and monstrous using that moniker. It is a historical artifact, and people are used to doing it now.
It's all about context in communication though. Some people do distinguish "Dragon" to mean a particular species or a small subset of species, using "Draconid", "Dracoform", or "Draconiforme" to refer to the greater taxonomic groups. This is a more modern take, though, and one I prefer when it comes to arranging draconids into clades.
One of the reasons the quadrupedal bialar kinds is rarely represented in these "realistic" presentations is because we simply don't have any natural reference for six-limbed creatures outside of insects. It doesn't mean they couldn't exist, though. They just never naturally evolved on this world. However, if we're going to give a little ground to realism for some less exotic fantasy draconids, we certainly can go a little farther and come up with their six-limbed cousins. :)
Great video, only issue is the wyvern thing.
It's true dragons weren't very consistent in the medieval era... but that also includes the venom part. Are the only real d&d dragons red dragons as their tho only ones to use fire? NO! Back then they didn't care much for sorting them into groups, where we do now. So why base definitions on arbitrary inconsistencies from centuries ago instead of modern consensus?
The 1st sea serpent is dangerously close to a bad word 😂😂 holy cow shit
Ответитьwof fans going insane with this one
Ответитьlook at flying dinos... they're literally dragons
ОтветитьI appreciate the goal to make dragons that could actually fly, but it feels a bit too much like they just ripped off pterosaurs. Would have liked to see some six-limbed dragons and stuff that didn't just look like a reskinned quetzelcoatlus. Still extremely well done, and big props to the author.
Ответить"Realistic"...because, you know.. you can compare real world thing to fictional creatures
ОтветитьThe mythical dragon is the symbol of fire, storm, water and destruction but also rebirth. It is the Leviathan, the monster in the lake or sea. It can also fly through the air and breathes fire through its nostrils or mouth. These effects are referring to a recurring natural disaster that appears in a cycle of seven. It threatens the Earth and all living things. The cause of this cycle of disasters is a ninth planet in our solar system orbiting the sun in an eccentric orbit. Characteristics of the natural disaster are a huge tidal wave, floods, storms, rain, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and an asteroid bombardment. All this is coming at people with great speed and is deadly to many. That is compared to deadly animals such as jaguar or piranha. A dragon or snake with sharp teeth also refers to that planet that has a long winding tail. Wings refer to the fact that the enemy of mankind is moving through the sky. To learn much more about planet 9, the recurring flood cycle and its timeline, the rebirth of civilizations and ancient high technology, read the e-book: "Planet 9 = Nibiru". This book answers many of your questions about ancient history. It can be read on any computer, tablet or smartphone. Search: planet 9 roest
ОтветитьI can assure you that while wyverns and dragons are the same type of species, wyvern enjoy identifying as beautiful and themselves.
ОтветитьDragons are defined by their lack of a concrete definition. You cant know what a dragon really is because they never existed and everything around them is made up. Overly Sarcastic Productions also has a really good video on what a dragon is or can be.
ОтветитьWyverns are dragonoids, but not dragons.
ОтветитьThe Green Dragonet is accualy just a RainWing
ОтветитьSo you’re telling me that scientists one day looked around and imagined… dragons.
ОтветитьThank you, this was so interesting. Say for example, that the serpent in the Garden of Eden is true, would it be a dragon? And after the curse, would be the snakes we find today. Would love to see a construction or diagram that your imagination would conjure up.
ОтветитьWell dragons are magical beasts, so I see typical dragon designs being logical.
Ответитьdragons don't have barbells on thier snouts, they are called barbles.. and 10 feet is not actually equivalent to 30 meters.
ОтветитьGrande erne
ОтветитьI liked this video just for what you said about wyverns/dragons. The wyvern argument is so stupid and 2 legs and 2 wings just makes more sense anyways. Every real life flying vertebrate has 2 legs and 2 wings.
ОтветитьI still have my Dragonology books on my bookshelf😂😂
ОтветитьHearing CA going out of character to argue passionately for the correct terminology between dragons and wyvern with the veracity of someone arguing on Twitter (without the racism) was endearing
Ответитьand then later in the future, these archosaurs evolve into human-like creatures like Gremlins, Urds, Kobolds, Dragonborn, Dragonkin, Dragonspawns, Lizardfolk, and Troglodytes. Others more primitive dracomorphs evolved a shell, becoming Dracoturtles.
ОтветитьI always would determine whether a creature was a dragon or a wavering by looking at their wings if their wings where connected to their arms wavers if not dragon.
ОтветитьA lot of these really weren’t that far off from real life animals
ОтветитьI'm hoping one day you revisit this artist. in the year since you've uploaded this video the artist has created more content that I feel could be worth exploring-including expanding on members of the dragon groups, having a project explaining the prehistory of the dragons, and, as of now, incorporating even more creatures of myth into their speculative alter Earth (examples include mermaids, unicorns and trolls)
ОтветитьThis artist is awesome, all the mythical animals brought to life, a giant toad in Japan named kappa, a giant hippo and whale ancestoir relative named kelpie, giant cephalopods named kraken, and a great sloth like mammals woth tusks and mud in his fur named troll
ОтветитьI also love the other animals in this World, outside of the dragons my favorite is the devil whale, a 13 Meter long macroraptorial whale that hunts sea serpents even the largest, as fellow mammal all i can say is "go mammals"😊😅😅
ОтветитьThis video has inspired me to make my own dragon “biology” and types of dragons. Thanks! I love dragons and I love art, and I’m semi-skilled as an artist, so this will be a fun project that will hopefully improve my drawing skills.
ОтветитьMy best guess is that if dragons did exist, they would be descendants if theropod dinosaurs.
ОтветитьThis is a certified 🐉 classic
ОтветитьIncredible!!!!
ОтветитьDude, you really need to show this to Mudfossil University...
ОтветитьMy love goes deep. So deep that my son is named Drake.
ОтветитьMy ideas for how fire breath would work are
1: Being able to separate hydrogen from the air they breath then storing it in a special air tight sack were they can spit it out where it ignites with the air.
2: They might search for liquid/gaseous fossil fuels were they store it and spit it out and ignite it when they want to use it.
3: They could make alcohol and use it as a biological molotov cocktail
For me its going to be all wyverns are dragons but not all dragons are wyverns
ОтветитьOne does onder how humans would have evolved in that world, how different their civilizations would be, and so on.
ОтветитьI have that Dragonology book
ОтветитьIf dragons are not were real then the wyvern dragons
Mixed with bird
Like appearance would be the most believable species! I’m one of these people who legends come from somewhere !
Come on, you can at least pronounce Vikas’name right.
Video is good though!
Beowulf is really good you should read it
ОтветитьThis would be greatly improved by a "6ft human" for scale silhouette
ОтветитьThis video was so amazing! I'll show it to my nephews soon! Thanks for the distinction between Wyverns and Dragons, it'll be useful for fantasy lovers and writers everywhere! And I have to admit, this makes me relieved that I don't live in a world with Dragons.
ОтветитьGroovylicious, Production! Loved it!❤
Buuuuut;
Dragonologists would love what I've discovered;
I've always maintained that dragons never really existed...despite my obvious love for them. Dragons are NOT Dinosaurs at all. Nor are they Alien creatures. They are NOT terribly large (Except in those "Big Fish" stories known as "Modern Fairytales"!), But, They really Could have been very real beings! Dragons often talk in classical literature. That denotes Sentiency and Sapience! Dragon magic easily translates to Technology more advanced than that of Humans. Dragon Wisdom is easily scientific knowledge and just plain good old fashioned Experience with a given subject. (As Dragons would be an earlier people than are humans) However, My recent, and seriously exhaustive research into making my newest OC Personal Dragon character "Zardoz" (Named after an old 1970's Sean Connery Flick) seem like something derived from reality, I derived a form and fully Scientifically believable (No Crazy Mutations, Extra limbs, Gas Bladders, or Magic ~There's no such thing as Magic anyways~ Not even In proper Fairytales is there genuine "Magic"! Just Magical seeming events , spiritual being activities, artistic illusions and weird newfangled gadgetry! Nothing Actually Supernatural!), But, something that easily, and, utterly sensibly, explains how medieval dragons could have been very real and not al all aggressive or in any fashion "Evil"! This is even generating a cool new story that I hadn't initially intended for the character! I've posted some of my "Field Note" doodles in my Deviantart "Xhyxhahruxh" Gallery. I don't know if Dragons ever actually existed, but, fossils of them would be exceedingly rare and, likely mistaken for those of Mammals or Monitor Lizards (The latter being exactly what they Are!) But, My Ideas add to the growing conjectures (Even in Mainstream science!) leaning towards the reality of actual dragons!.
yes
ОтветитьScary to be surrounded by dumb gullible uneducated people that believe everything they hear.
N you're all adults parents grandparents no wonder this young generation is dumber then rock,
everything you seen and heard is based on a theory and is absolutely fake and made up,
by a man who calls himself a scientist.
not surprised majority of people are uneducated gullible and believe everything they hear.
You dummies including your scientists don't know what you had for breakfast yet you wanna explain what happened 200 million years ago. (200 million years ago) lol 😆
but can it be found
ОтветитьI want toothless in real life
ОтветитьWhen you think of a dragon you think many. But infact there was only one ever on earth. I know the true story. Here's his true name. Youngest son of the Alien queen Eden Ionmhain the beloved eagle grandmother to Ra. Had 3 sons. First was Atom, second was Atlantis, third was none other then Jupiter the dragon. Aka hades aka lucifer. You don't think so. That's your problem. But it is the truth. Queen Eden has Jupiter with a human named Kronos. True facts.
