I loved this video, will try this method 🙏🏼
ОтветитьWould Bok choy work in a high intensity grow?
Ответитьgoing to try this growing technique this year my first time growing from seeds and growing lettuce
ОтветитьThank you
Ответитьcrushin that lettuce game! Thanks for the info!
ОтветитьWhat variety would be good for salad packs.. small leaves?
ОтветитьApril 22, 2022. I took a 4 day weekend, the days have been cool so I could not wait to plant my lettuce! Spent the day planting. 2 hours later, we got the biggest thunderstorm we’ve had in years. Guessing it’s all washed away. I wonder if this is how Charles Ingalls felt when he would lose his crops to bad storms 😕😭
ОтветитьLuke u help me so much!!! Going through and rewatching and liking all your videos before I start my garden outside in May. Getting so excited !!
ОтветитьLuke your a goat 🐐 man you made me want to move to Michigan love your vid’s can’t wait to get my garden fully blooming
ОтветитьI did this and my seedlings are growing so slow, any help?
ОтветитьI would do what you do but im going to grow lettuce between out tomatoes. Im starting our lettuce in seedling trays . Its my first year doing this and we are a bit late
ОтветитьI enjoy that your are clear, relaxed and easy to understand... thank you.
ОтветитьDo you use anything on your lettuce to keep the bugs away? I tried growing lettuce last spring for the first time and had holes all over the leaves. Trying to avoid using any chemicals.
ОтветитьI'm on the east coast (down south), and I know I've already missed my planting from seed for outdoors, as it's already in the low 90's here. Can't imagine what it will be like when it would be time to transplant. So........... I'd like to start seeds to grow lettuce inside. Do you have any tips/recommendations for doing that? TIA
ОтветитьHow do u use all that lettuce
ОтветитьThank you, Luke!
ОтветитьYou rock...that is all😉
ОтветитьLove it, thank you Luke !
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьLuke, thank you for this helpful info. We’ve watched tons of your videos as we continue to develop our homestead. We greatly appreciate it! One question, is this year I planted a variety of salad greens and NONE of them came up! I’m confused. Any ideas? This is our first year planting salad greens at this property.
ОтветитьThank you, I received my complimentary salad bowl seeds today with my order and it was great that you have the QR code on the pack to link to this video. It’s one thing I’ve always been hesitant to grow. I grew your chard seeds this year and they did well, and I now have the confidence now to try lettuces . I’m in The Deep South, so I will hold my seeds until Feb. Might get fancy and make a little cold frame. 😁 🙏🏻Continual blessings on your harvest.
ОтветитьThank you. I am a new container gardener. I just used seeds to grow butterhead, romaine and endive. I planted 8 seeds of each in small container. I had plans to transplant them into gallon jugs, one per gallon jug. LOL now I'm not so certain because I really love the idea of cut and come again. Since I'm so new to it all I do believe I'll do it both ways so I can gain the experience here in zone 10a Florida. I so appreciate your time and videos
ОтветитьI have a great looking tightly packed 1-foot by 6-foot row of lollo bionda ready for a first cut. Beside is a well-spaced row of buttercrunch with big ugly stems from nearly constant harvesting. If I move young biondas to spaced rows to replace the buttercrunch will they grow to form heads that I can cut and come again with?
ОтветитьI did the same , butter lettuce and holy wow, it's growing fast! I love that I can go pick my own food out of my own backyard.
ОтветитьYup i did this.... but i did too much now i dont know what to do with all the lettuce. Also cleaning it has become a chore....
ОтветитьJust got my seeds thanks for the salad seeds! Was wondering if you were same as company I ordered from.
ОтветитьThank you for the great explanation and demo. To summarize: plant rows 4"apart so plants self-support each other. Sow seeds 1/4-1/2" apart so they self-cull. Make sure soil is loose, very fertile, and well-draining. Fertilize heavily in top 1" when sowing. Deep water so that roots grow down, rather than across in a competition for water. Cut and come again 2-3" above soil surface level with a very sharp knife. You may get 4-8 harvests/season depending on the length of your growing season.
ОтветитьThank you so much! I’ve been harvesting for cut-and-come again all wrong. You have taught me so much about gardening!
ОтветитьGood video how do you fertilize and what type being so close.
ОтветитьMany thanks Luke for your generosity.
Ответитьi did this last year and it worked great. will be doing every year thank you
ОтветитьHow do you prevent aphids on the leaf lettuce?
ОтветитьI have a packet of your salad bowl mix. The QR code on the back brought me to this video; very cool feature! 💚
ОтветитьThank you Luke! This was an awesome video! You answered most of my questions on this topic. I’ve been growing heads of lettuce which is exhausting because I have to keep succession sowing. I want to switch to this method as it looks like I only have to do the sowing in spring and then harvest all season long from one spring sowing ❤️
ОтветитьWhat can you sow with the lettuce in March? Without fear of a hard freeze killing it.
ОтветитьHow do you bug and critter proof the lettuce?
ОтветитьThose rose look like they are 12 inches apart and not 4 inches apart. Can you give me your exact spacing because it looks like a foot to me.
ОтветитьAmazing! You say that you hardly ever water them but when you do water them how do you do it? Do you have a drip watering system?
ОтветитьVery pretty and relaxing music! It’s early morning in Mi, and I love this❣️
ОтветитьI have tried lettuce for years. I get no germination. Either in potting soil or in the ground. Any idea why?
ОтветитьI tried it. Now I have to hire a goat because I can't eat lettuce fast enough, it regrows. 😂
ОтветитьGlad I found this video! I have had alot of lettuce seedlings that damp off by planting lettuce individually, so maybe this is the solution! I am going to try this! Keeping notes on the process!
Ответитьwhat happens to the old leaves? Rot? Continue to photosynthesize?
ОтветитьI have been growing lettuce in containers on my deck. I thickly sow seed directly in the containers and do not transplant from trays to containers. I am noticing that most of the plants are "leggy", which results in them easily "laying down" instead of growing upright. What am I doing wrong that is causing this?
ОтветитьYou are always saying "grow big or go home". It looks like you are already home, and your harvests are pretty big, so I think you just like saying that even though it does not make sense.
ОтветитьThis is really good. Dang
ОтветитьCan’t wait to try your high intensity style of growing leafy greens this year 😊
ОтветитьHow often to you deep water?
ОтветитьBeautiful Video Great advice! Thank You
