I don't understand what is being said In the description about the Harpers series. This book was published in 1988 and the Harpers only began in the 90s . So how can this be a part of something that was published after it.
A brief explanation with no spoilers would be appreciated . Thanks

I had a drive for work and I am a good chunk of the way into it. The thing about Greenwood is he creates fun characters and a fun setting, but the frenetic pace of his books make it so you only catch glimpses of them. It’s like you are on a bullet train seeing interesting things rush by. I am like 15 percent into the book and we’ve already encountered bone devils, erinyes, a dracolich , and some sort of tentacled horror from the depths of a pool. Also there was an attack by bandits, the Brightspears fought some sort of mage, a spell battle occured between two rival wizards, and the knight of Myth Drannor have been making appearances oh and there have been sightings of Storm and her buddy. It’s definitely not boring, but could we maybe get a campfire conversation scene where we get to know some of them?

I read this book in 1990 when I was 14 years old and absolutely loved it. This was the first Realms book I ever read. Going back to it today I expected to find it dreadful and cringeworthy, but surprisingly I still genuinely enjoy it. Perhaps it’s just nostalgia, but there’s a real sense of passion in the writing from Greenwood and you can really sense how invested he is in the characters and their world. I do still have a soft spot for this sort of gamer fiction in my cynical old age.

This was the book that got me into the Forgotten Realms and started a love of D&D. I found it and Legacy by R.A Salvatore in my local book store and I fell in love with the genre and setting
