I know I’m late here but damn tv nomenclature is stupid.
How does this compare to the X90CK which is currently $1000 at Costco for the 65” model
1 million subs where’s the intern
ОтветитьPersonally, I am VERY grateful for your excellent unboxing videos.
ОтветитьSamsung, Vizio...yeah, yeah - everything you said is true...but there's still just nothing quite like the picture on a Sony TV. Other manufacturers' standard picture is either completely neutral (Philips) or leaning toward green (Samsung), but Sony has always had the perfect little breath of blue. (It reminds me of the look that Michael Mann gave to the "Miami Vice" TV show.) Since the first time I saw a Sony TV, many, MANY years ago, I have never wanted any other brand. (Along the way, I did consider grabbing a Philips now and again, just because it was much less expensive than Sony but still did a good overall job.)
ОтветитьThanks for the good video guide on this - I looked at a couple of others that were mostly just confusing or not very informative.
Ответить"I would absolutely be using a sound bar."
Yeah, well, so would I - except that after buying the TV, I don't have enough money left to buy a decent sound bar. 😁
(I actually got a bit of a kick out of seeing that one of Sony's upper end sound bars is the same price as the TV!!)
Can't find your review for X90K
Ответитьis it any good for gaming, Ps4 ? GTA 5 ? :)
ОтветитьThe brightness is still much better then any OLED. Including the Sony a95k.
ОтветитьThis TV is a piece of shit. It has an HDMI audio drop issue Sony can't or won't fix.
Ответитьis this the same tv costco sells as the Sony 55" Class - X90CJ?
ОтветитьI have the X90J as well! Did you ever get your T.V professional calibrated? There are soo many options to change my head is about to spin ughhh. I want nice crisp picture for my direct tv stream service but, it's just not coming thru like it does for HBO MAX and NetFlix, etc... How do I make it so all channels look crisp and clear like a 4k should?
ОтветитьI enjoy the unboxing videos, I want to know what's in the box! I like to see the components spread out like you do for a clear idea of what to expect if I purchase that particular model. Thank you,
for the time and effort in such a video.
Got this Tv in 65in for $640, coming from a Vizio 4k this tv is everything, hopefully Sony's last a while
ОтветитьHow does this do with compressed sports from satellite/cable TV?
ОтветитьJust picked up a 75 in XR90J for $850 at best buy off of their black Friday sale
ОтветитьI love the tv
ОтветитьMy Sony Bravia XR 55X90J was perfectly delivered and set up twice by Geek Squad because I had it removed from my living room wall mount to my bedroom Init stand so that Geek Squad could mount my Sony Bravia XR 65X95J to my living room wall mount. Then Geek Squad connected my X90J to my 2011 Samsung UN55D8000YF 3D blu-ray 240 Hz amazing display after 11 years. Both of the latter are HDMI split for dual screen DVD viewing, plus both are connected to my old Mitsubishi VCR with RCA to HDMI converter and another HDMI splitter to watch my old video cassettes. Wow! Extra usage of old and new devices. I only need to improve audio with the VCR play. I already used a VCR heads cleaner.
ОтветитьI bought the X90 J last year 2021 I love it use it for gaming and streaming movies
Ответитьis there an on/off switch on the unit ?
ОтветитьWould anyone say that this Sony tv is better than a lg a2 for a dark room 120 inst a must and would mostly be for gaming 80-90% rest movies or series
ОтветитьHello Dear friend Which TV is better in terms of image quality and technology for ps5, please help me, I'm really confused. Sony x90j or s q70b Or do you have a better offer in this price range
Ответитьavlo kasu unga appana tharuvan
Ответитьthanks for the great video , I've been searching for a decent 75" upgrade to my Sony X850C with out breaking the bank lol . so much more to look at then when got my last tv 7+ years ago
ОтветитьNeed a video on sony 90x vs x95j
ОтветитьWell i have had this tv since its release and like most tvs it has its cons. But what is very disappointing in this review is you dont give actual specs and numbers...for example your comparing this to the x900h which you never said had motion blur issues and a non working hdmi 2.1. (Which it does)The nits on x900h is only 500 while the x90j is around 900...thats a 400 nit difference which is a clear game changer and will bring out hdr much better than the 900h. The contrast on the x90j is amazing. I feel if your going to a professional review you need be more in depth and use equipment and give out specs. Everyones eyes work different. This tv has had quite a few updates since your review which has greatly improved performance and color gamut. I feel like your just shitting on this tv for no reason at all.
ОтветитьThey have an XR version with stronger speakers
ОтветитьCaleb, please review the Sony X85K....PLEASE!! I trust your reviews..
ОтветитьI just got this tv for $700 at Costco I’m loving it so far!
ОтветитьSony is the greatest of all time
ОтветитьI got it for $500 lol so no regrets
Ответитьx90j vs x90k?
Ответитьx90k better than x90j in dark room?
ОтветитьManaged to pick a 65" option for this for £850, I think looking at the compared option, that is value for money - I think at the price at this time it was not as good an option.
ОтветитьFair review on the Sony but I can't believe I heard you mention the Hisense U series as a competitor. Why? I ordered a U7 55" for my mom as her Toshiba 40" (actually built by Toshiba in Oct 2008) finally started having issues when you first went to turn it on. That and her being older, she had played it at a volume that ruined the speakers. So, I went on Amazon's website and got the Hisense at what I thought was a good price ($599). TV came, easy to unbox & set up and the interface was decent.
Then you get to the flaw: as long as you are using the apps, the audio was fine. Also fine when you switched over the watch cable TV. But as soon as you changed the channel, the actors mouths moved & the audio trailed 1-3 second behind. No adjustment on the cable box, TV or change of HDMI cables would help. Even tried the built in "lips sync" adjustment on the TV but no. The only fix was to power off & then on the cable box EVERY TIME YOU CHANGE THE CHANNEL! Contacted them and got the latest firmware ( also supposed to fix the sound bar dropping audio problem) so new it just hit their servers this past Friday for OTA rollout starting this week). Did the upgrade and it was actually worse. So I packed it up, contacted Amazon to send it back & went to Best Buy the next morning and got the X90J. It works great, looks great and the audio has no problems (to me anyhow). Sure this isn't a $2-4K TV, but for the price, I think it's terrific. Sure better than that Hisense, who also now do Toshiba and Sharp TVs too. Just my experience. Yours may be different.
I own the x95j awesome TV my best yet and got the 2100es receiver to go with it
ОтветитьThanks for the review! It's good to know your 1st TV had a different quality from the 2nd one, it tells me the quality control issues from Sony. I just bought a 55 Inch X90J and but I tends to agree with every point you made here: 1. a lot of glare, really bad for a bright room; 2. Peak brightness is poor, I just don't get the "wow" effects; 3. Direct TV steaming the quality is bad ( I have very fast internet), the Netflix and Amazon video looked dull and not sharp at all. Maybe I got a dud... due to quality control issues...
ОтветитьSony x90j or the new 2022 Samsung q70b?
ОтветитьI'm about to get an x90j. How did you know that the previous tv was broken because I don't think I'd be able tell.
ОтветитьI have a circa 2009 Sony which seems to have a bad T-con board. Rather than replace the board (if I can find one), I opted for the X90J. I did agonize some between the Sony and the Hisense U8G, but I decided that, if I wasn’t going to get an OLED I wanted the Sony, which was on sale for one day at $799. Since I’ve been happy with a 13 year-old Sony tv, I can’t imagine not being happy with this. And, YES, I don’t mind paying a bit more for it.
Ответитьyour know you influencers help us out greatly - and the companies hopefully understand why - thx Holmes
ОтветитьJust bought one in amazon for 700s cant beat that for a 2.1 hdmi 120z and vrr
ОтветитьHi Caleb, Reading the comments of owners here, I think that you were possibly a little negative with your review. You mentioned that the X90J has a reflective coating, but I'm positive that it doesn't. I know that the X95J doesn't have it on the 65" model either, but does on the 75": and 85". Sorry for calling you out on this, but I have to keep you honest 😉. I watch almost all of your videos, and I will continue to do so in the future. I am waiting for another price drop on the X90J here in NZ, then I will pounce.
ОтветитьSo what 120hz TV do you think is best in the same price point?
ОтветитьIs this a good tv for dark rooms ?
ОтветитьSony keeps making these mediocre mid-level TVs it seems every year; ie. x90H, x90J, and now x90K. With inflation, the prices are more out of control. I have nothing against Sony or any other brand.
ОтветитьIm looking for a X900h but i cant find one to buy anywhere. Is it discontinued? Can only find the 950h
ОтветитьI just got the 75in Sony X90J from Costco...is was the display model... for only $900 .... with 5 year warranty! Couldn't say no to the offer!
Ответить
