Building A Chicken Coop from Start to Finish | The ShabinLife

Hey Everybody, Hope all is well & thanks for stopping by the ShabinLife channel. In this video we build a chicken coop from start to finish. We're very excited to bring chickens onto the suburban homestead if only for a short time until we move up north when we take everything with us. If you've ever had questions or were looking for ideas on how or what to build as far as a chicken coop, I'm sure you'll find some great info throughout the video. I've borrowed ideas and concepts from a lot of different coop designs that can be found online and built them into our own custom chicken coop. I had thought about breaking up the video into a couple parts, but after editing began it seemed to flow better as one longer video (especially for people like me who may use the video as a reference, they can simply fast forward to parts of the build that they need info from).

- Chicken Coop cost approx. $350.00 to build w/ the Block Foundation, the Corrugated Metal Roofing and 1/2in Hardware Cloth costing approx. $175.00. I used as much hardware & scrap / reclaimed wood I could (dumpster diving for most of it... Also scored some scraps at my local Restore / Habitat 4 Humanity)
- Chicken Coop w/ Run is approx. 10.5ft x 5ft
- Sand used for the Chicken Run is a mix of All Purpose & Tube Sand (would use just Tube Sand in the future).
- Went with (for now) Pine Shavings for the Coop itself, but may switch over to sand in the coop once I move it to our land up north.
