Rodney Dangerfield got a role in Caddyshack because of these terrific bits he did on Johnny Carson, and because he was on the top of his game. Caddyshack was his first movie, and he didn’t know the lingo about action or cut, he just stayed behind the curtain until he was told by the Director to come out and do his bit. I think the funniest thing he said in Caddyshack was about how bad the food was at the country club, that the steak still had marks on it, from where the jockey was hitting it.

The facial expressions on Rodney are half the act. Brilliance!

They are both very much missed. Lots of common sense.

Rodney wasn't ugly in his younger days. He was looking pretty bad in his older days. His eyebags were atrocious! He never really mentioned he was Jewish. Jackie Mason, on the other hand. He was REALLY Jewish! It seemed like that with most comedians. Not many mentioned their religion. To this day, Lewis Black mentions that he is Jewish.

The greatest of all time, and nobody else really comes close. Nobody else could do what he did, in the way he did it.

Nobody could do it like Rodney. Never used profanity.

This was one of Rodney's BEST nights on "The Tonight Show." I really miss him, Johnny, Ed and the rest of the gang on that show when night time talk shows were VERY funny unlike today.

So annoying keep pulling on his tie as a nervous tic.
