Fascinating how technology decreases the size of everything. I wonder if some of the iffy issues are due to tech or just bad (re cheap) design choices to keep costs down of the unit.

Most experienced weldors would brace their arm against something. You need control especially with the ergonomics of this welder.

Just recently my machine at work started being intermittent and shutting off on stick mode so I ended up doing the job on rig mode with my pedal but with stick electrodes, and honestly starting a stick with my pedal was amazingly easy and much better than scratching lol

This kind of reminds me of that! I bet with some use this could be better for some than scratching as you can just put it down a mil or two off the work and and pull the trigger?

Hand held unit with 'trode on a cable and "feeds" the rod through the unit and completes circuit as you pull the trigger-- a "wire welder" that uses rods instead of wire-- solves the long length problem but can the weight be kept down?

Done stick, mig and wet welding or "underwater welding"-- I can tell by looking it would be awkward and heavy for production welding-- maybe ok for home workshop stuff but IDK if it would last long on the farm.

Please don't support Temu. They use slave labor to make their products.

Finally! I am sick of replacing the blown tubes in my tube amp - i mean, handheld welding monstrosity.

There was a shoe insert that claimed to remove the "sensation of stepping in shit" and was military grade.

Also i found a bug zapper that used a (and i quote) "Skynet motor"

I actually have this. It's legit as a beginner tool. I've used it for 4 hours learning to weld yesterday. It's doing great at teaching me. I've had none of the issues with the clamp, but I want to replace it with a magnet regardless.

This could be real interesting when the name brands start making them

There is a sale right now for 39.99 for these on temu. I really wanted this to be junk.. but seems it's good enuff for my use, which is auto body like quarter panels and maybe, 1/16th inch thick steel. So I huess 40 bucks is worth a shot.

I know nothing about arc welding. How can you touch the rod like that and not get shocked?

I would use it to tac up some stuff that has to travel to get welded. seems like a cool deal.

Only way I can maybe seeing this being practical is like throwing it in your RV or something small.

TEMU uses hostile shipping exploits to circumvent money touching your country's local economy and instead funnels it directly into China only.
