Ty so much for sharing. Visited Istanbul recently and made sure to go to Guvenc Konyali and had the dish you recommended. Family and I loved it and this was one of the most memorable meals we had in Turkey.

I don’t think I have seen food that looks so good. I love lamb and this would be heaven to me. My grandma used to wrap chicken in salt (not as much as this 😂). It strangely doesn’t destroy the chicken with a salt taste. Just makes an insulating crust.

I'm going on a trip to Bulgaria and also staying in Istanbul Old City for a few days. The Güvenç Konyalı place looks so good! Great review

Actually this video is very misleading in that meat is so expensive and a commodity in Turkey for most Turks. He's a rich American. I only got to eat meat once in a blue moon growing up in Turkey which helped me transition into being mostly vegetarian/ vegan today 🌱 I don't need all that fatty, heart disease causing meat in my body...
