.... I'm a simple Southern man. So I must say.... None of that you just said makes a watch worth more than a car or a house ok... If you have money like that to blow on something that tells you the time.. You need to give some of it away to something beneficial.

Pretty cool movement inside the grand. It’s only costs them $800 to make.🤷‍♂️ (I’m a watch maker) the average mark up on jewelry and most luxury watches is 400%. I own watches appraised at 100’s of thousands of dollar. I received them as gifts, incentives and refurbished a few. The most I ever spent on a retail purchase is $725.

Grand Seikos are beautifully finished but not hand finished.

I get weirded out that a second hand rolex sells for more than a new one.

one might argue that the wrist watch is mostly "feature complete", so what remains is slightly changing the styling every couple of years.

I would actually pay that price if I’m getting some great Mechanical Engineering, Innovative Technology, and Hand Crafting.

Rolex, Omega, AP, Patek, Richard Mille, even Cartier or Bvlgari.
Grand Seiko is a dorks watch for people who like to wax lyrical about Japanese movements and spring drives.
Also the movement in a Quartz Bulova Precisionist is smoother from $100. So stick that up your “spring drive”.

SEIKO IS NOT a luxury watch. The older vintage Grand Sieko, maybe. Absolutely nothing modern though.

I want one more than a Rolex. I appreciate seikos history more tbh and the finishes for the face are beautiful. To me the brand represents a much needed leap in watch technology being the first quartz battery powered watch making it the most accurate and robust watch ever for it’s time.

There is are few people more delusional than Grand Seiko enthusiast . Doesnt matter how good movement is or how perfect finish is. It will never be a rolex
