This is what happened to a lot of women who do not think well enough before having a baby. Will the man you are going to have a baby will help you raise the kid? Or you are just thinking about sex and not the consequence of unprotected sex. Single mothers cannot always rely on the government to help them. Get married first, then think about having a baby if you can afford it.

Well I feel for you but you got a place that wasn’t expensive private rent I was put in a expensive private rental knowing I have five children with two austic children I said it to my case worker who turned deaf eyes I never expected I was gonna be homeless and run to Mk council as both my husband and myself have been working all our life It happened and where Mk council put us has even brought more financial burden on our family and hardship to our family with higher rent and is even hard to find a down side accommodation with cheaper price which isn’t ideal for our children with disability but we are willing to risk it else we could be facing another homeless

Sorry to be harsh but you cant be on maternity leave if you dont have a job... i had 3 children and went back to work after 2-4 weeks, people need to sacrifice more and not put all the blame on their government. You decided to have kids then provide a home, care & food for them.

Here is an idea. If you can't support two children through your own economic activities, do not have them, else you will become dependent on the state for your material needs. And here is the rub; the state is a capricious master, and frequencies changes due to government policy due to the vicissitudes of electoral politics will ensure that you do not have a stable life.

As a Private landlord myself, I can see both sides. For one, the no eviction process is so cruel. I am based in Scotland, where the no eviction route is not possible. That I think is good. The biggest problem, not only for tenants, but also Landlords, is the attitude of the government. They have made it harder and harder for private landlords to make a profit, by introducing more and more legislation and rules. On top of that the interest on a BTL mortgage has increased dramatically. They have also frozen the LHA ( local housing allowance ) which makes it harder for people, like in this video, to get decent housing. PRS landlords are leaving in droves, due to this government, so people should realise that it's down to mainly government policies.
