Hi, my question is if in one session you can only get a drop can you put the syringe in the fridge and on the next session refill it? I’ve not had enough to freeze it. Thank you

Is it normal for colostrum to leak just from one breast? I can never get anything out of my right boob lol. The leaks started at w26 (in both breasts but a lot more on my left) but my midwife advised against hand expression until w37 to avoid triggering early labour.

Do you give it to baby room temperature? Not warmed? (First timer here). I'm going to try this in a couple weeks! 35 weeks now.

Curious if I do hand express (38 weeks) will it cause me to leak moving forward? Nervous to get things flowing and it’s not gonna stop?

I'm officially 36 weeks now with Twins and my OB said I can start expressing. I did already buy the Haakaa Colostrum collector and I used my Bubka Move wearable electric pump on the express mode and just did it for a about 6-10 minutes on each side. (I can't hand express as it hurts my finger and hand) I stopped as it was the 1st time expressing, I got 2.1ml. But I had been leaking Colostrum for a long time (tiny tiny amouts only) as it goes crusty hard bits in my bra and hurt me, actually. Anyway I highly recommend these collectors!!! I HATE using the normal syringes. This is my 4th pregnancy and got a double bonus so I really want to get ahead and get my milk ready for them.

I actually bought some of those colostrum collectors, but I have yet to get any colostrum to come out. I will keep trying!

I started leaking out at 16 weeks, and when I hit 36 weeks I started collecting, first time with hand expression I got 4ml, so I tried a pump the next day and got 15ml! Then I did hand expression again and got 10ml😅I feel like that’s a lot! So happy I can feed my baby!!

I have GD this pregnancy and am planning to collect colostrum within the next few weeks because of baby's sugars/possibly baby sugars and may need formula. Nothing against formula but I am already producing so mind as well save it and bring it with to the hospital. I can't wait to meet my baby!

I’m planning to store colostrum because my 1st child was born jaundice and taken to the NCIU, I just found out I’m pregnant with our second and this is one of the things I want to be more prepared for. I guess my blood type makes my children more likely to be born jaundice.

How long would it take to defrost? If I take to the hospital on ice packs for my induction day.. do I need to give it to the nurse to be refrigerated or can I keep in my cooler?
