GT 1030 Silent Graphics Card

Just put one of these (actively cooled though) into a Fujitsu C720 (SFF PC with only one low profile slot).

While having some "fun" with Linux and my TV, it is a great little thing.

I have exactly this card in my HP prodesk 600Sff. I upgraded it to in i7 4790, 32 Gb and an SSD.

This combination in total cost me like EUR 250.

Fun thing about this I have a silent computer which has a minor power draw, AND it plays most games just fine at 1080p high settings (like GTA V).

It's about EOL now as games progress, but even in 2023 this is still a perfecly fine and viable budget gaming solution.

For my son I purchased a ryzen 5600G based PC. This outpeforms the 1030 slightly, but has the advantage of having an upgrade path.

If you want hardcore gaming in low profile, you now need an A2000.

This guy reminds me of Thomas the tank engine

Is this card good for HTPC use?

I use a Dell sff with an i5-3470 and GT 1030 in an emulation rig. I've tested all the way into ps2 and it works flawlessly(as far as emulation goes).
The more advanced emulators do require more fan/airflow due to card heating up tho. Without the card starts to throttle in <2mins.

Wow a video display adapter so bad even then it makes it even more enjoyable 4 years later... and fact it coveted the pci-e x1 slot ...tut tut

I put that card in my system back in 2017 and it was pretty darn good, it even managed FSX on max settings. Not a bad little card at all.

five years later and the thought of getting an NVidia graphics card for $70 is unimaginable. I checked a local retailer earlier and 45 out of 50 cards were sold out! The rest were in the $1000+ range.

Almost 2022, bought an asus passively cooled one a month ago after my 1050ti went kaput and overclocked it by more than 200 MHz on core and 530+ MHz on memory. To keep temps down, I strapped a 60mm case fan onto the large heatsink with zip ties and have it run full whack off a molex end of the psu and it maintains a good high 50s-low 60s celsius at full load while gaming.

Cool video!! I'm still using my 1080 ti from 2017. Was going to get the passively-cooled model, but unfortunately the Eiffel Tower doesn't fit in my case. :P

My rig is as quiet as they come until I put a 1050ti in there. It’s got 2 fans and I would very much like to doctor it. Those bquiet fans are very good indeed. My psu fan doesn’t even kick in either until it’s under heavy load and that’s never happened. My psu is a corsair 850w modular. My chip is i7 9700k. I sure like the look of that card and it would match my aorus motherboard. My motherboard is aorus pro wifi where the wifi don’t work well for some reason. I have to have it hard wired. The fist one I had to send back due to a faulty hdmi port. The wifi didn’t work on that one either.

Am I the only one who thinks this gigabyte model looks ugly?

I have never had the need to lift the lever of the PCIE slot when fitting a graphics gard. You just push it in!

It's sad for PC market you can only buy GT 1030 and GT 710/730 at reasonable price in US right now. I just purchased one MSI GT 1030 for my parents. It costs me $86.

I have borrow Nvidia gt 1030 ddr 5 2 gb from my friend. After upgrading drivers from gpu experience game run perfectly but When i come to playing Videos on Pot Player some videos become glitchy but other player play that video well.

i am so worried. Does my gpu has fault in it. Is gpu going to die ? I have some on internet there says Glitchy videos gpu going to die..

Graphics is play games fine working normally when it comes to playing videos Anime Movies pot player video become glitchy when i disable nvidia videos driver that videos play full of fine on pot player.

Between the Gigabyte and Asus versions, Gigabyte should be .09 inches shorter in cooler height, if that helps anything (fitting SFF 7040). I'll need the smallest I can get that's 2GB GDDR5 and this seems to be it through scouring the internet. I'm just not too sure how much space there is between the PCIe 16x slot and the metal PSU case.

The passive 1030 is a lovely little card for a home theatre PC if your build isn't using a CPU with integrated graphics. I've used the ASUS passive model (basically the same half-height reference card with a different shaped passive heat sink) in my HTPC for some time. My only real complaint is that 10-bit (HDR) colour playback is a nightmare but that's not the card's fault. Windows 10 has a rubbish HDR implementation.

that's exactly my videocard (but ASUS instead of MSI) am looking for a budget upgrade (my country currency conversion to dollars is really bad) everyone is suggesting a 1050, is it a good upgrade? (taking in account the cost)

Sheesh. Why are pc parts prices shooting up? This card is much higher, and everything Ryzen 3 or 5 is overpriced except the 3100.
