Making this farm myself, how do i prevent maneaters/clingers spawning as they then prevent mob spawning due to the mob cap?

help, i build this in a cavern layer with a crimson biome and somehow i cant make it change biome did i do it wrong because of the crimson?

What blocks are resistant to crimson and corruption? Sorry I know this sounds like a rly stupid question but I have never rly given it that much thought
