There has to be an objective point to when food is good or bad. For example shrimp cant be rubbery or steak overcooked. Also, there has to be room for the subjective side as well like spiciness, sweetness, etc. I would say that while chef ramsey might have cooked that pad thai objectively well, well enough for it to be good objectively, it might not be authentically "thai" for the average thai pallet. Its like panda express. Its good but it is very disappointing for asians who know authentic chinese food.

As a young chef with 13 years of experience is that no matter how good you cook there is always going to be someone bitching that it wasn't good and I'm sure Gordon Ramsay knowns about this you can't satisfy everyone. .

The pad thai is just normal stir fry noodle taste, not pad thai taste. I went to a Chinese restaurant that serves it and like it more than the regular pad thai taste because, it's not to sweet, sour, and salty. It taste like regular stir fry noodle. And monks don't judge, they don't insult! Lol

Lemme just say, as a person living in LA where there’s a lot of authentic Thai spots in Hollywood, when I went to London I tried a highly rated Thai place, and it was terrible. As you see in most Asian cultures living in other countries, they alter the food to suit the tastes of the population
