KCR Fall 2015 Closed Bolt Optics Greg S POV

This course is titled ‘Legends’ and the theme is events in history where a subgun was used or could (should) have been used.

Course of Fire:

All standard classes (Open Bolt/Closed Bolt, Iron Sights/Optics) limited to 30 rounds per magazine. Only the Unlimited Class can use magazines/drums loaded with more than 30 rounds, and a Unlimited Class run doesn't count for Top Gun. Since magazines are limited to 30 rounds each, there are no mandatory magazine changes between shooting positions, or at any other point during the match.

Starting Position:

- From inside the beach lander with the subgun unloaded (no magazine inserted). 1st magazine is on the table at shooting position 1.
- On the beep, pull the handle to drop the lander door and proceed to shooting position 1.

Shooting Position 1:

- Insert magazine on table to load weapon and engage all blue targets

Shooting Position 2:

*all shots are from under arm / from the hit (sights must be below your shoulder)*

- Using 1 and only 1 magazine, engage all 7 silhouette targets in one continuous full-auto burst from under arm
- All targets must have at least 2 hits on them to be neutralized
- Any stoppage of fire before all targets are neutralized requires the magazine to be removed from the subgun and reinserted
- If you run out of ammo from your magazine before neutralizing all targets, you *cannot* use a new mag. Missed targets are lost.

Shooting position 3:

*most poppers are set heavy requiring a 3-5 shot burst to knock them over*
*red targets are no-shoots*

- Through the window in the hay bales, neutralize all pepper poppers you can see (4-5)
- From the left side of the bales, engage the rest of the poppers
- Both feet must remain on the ground, even if you sit/lean on the bale

Shooting Position 4:

- With your forearm or hand resting on the log for all shots, engage all white steel
- The steel in the cross pattern will fall to the ground
- The 5 steel targets on the right will "gong" but not fall (1 hit neutralizes)
