Shaun!!!!!
ОтветитьI barely got to watch the only Olympics this year.
ОтветитьLove to see your progress on Sunset in Venice. Indeed a beautiful artwork of Dominic Davidson. I am currently working on in but the Mini version. keep stitching on it :)
ОтветитьYay, I am so happy to see you more regularly! Love all your wips.
ОтветитьYour pieces are so gorgeous. I love the Venice piece. Great haul too. I love your videos. 💖💖💖
ОтветитьI'm currently working on a Teresa Wentzler so I feel you on the confetti.
Ответить1 over 2 with 40ct is the best. I really think you'll like 40ct.
ОтветитьI've stitched many Mirabilia patterns and I always use the original chart. But then, I don't highlight my patterns as I stitch. Friends of mine take the patterns to someplace like Staples to get a working copy.
ОтветитьStitching the skin over one on Mirabilias and Teresa Wentzlers makes the details much finer. I did this with Woodland Fairy by Teresa and she looks almost real.
ОтветитьI'm a horrible horrible person who usually highlights on the original chart. I know, I know
ОтветитьFor the Mirabilia and Lavender & Lace charts ,I think you'd probably not need to mark off as you go along since you're used to HAED. However, having said that, if I were you, I'd ask permission from Mirabilia to make your working copy at a copy store so you can get really good color and maybe even in a size you want (blown up). That's just what I've done in the past if my own copy machine isn't up to the task.
Okay , and why do we prefer 1×1 petit stitch for skin? My answer is that it appears more delicate like skin. I made my Mirabilia Queen Mermaid regular 2×2 on 28 count (it didn't call for 1×1), but it looks more clunky sort of compared to the Lavender & Lace "In the Arms of an Angel," that called for 1×1 skin. I guess I don't regret it ,but I feel that difference when I see the finished mermaid. Now I'm making my Marbek angels with 1×1 skin because I don't want to "see" the "clunkiness" in an elegant lady piece if I can avoid it. Maybe one day I won't care.😅 Great video! Love that you're starting a few new pieces for your birthday and considering an introvert stitching night with a friend. Sounds like my kind of celebration!🎂🎉
Beautiful cat and WIPs. Happy stitching!
ОтветитьWow, I love Sunset in Venice and Stolen Harvest! You have some super detailed things going. Fun to see them emerge! SO excited to see Halloween at Hawkrun...so tempted to start that one too!
ОтветитьOk, commented too soon. For paper charts, I just take a picture. I did that for a really hard to read chart (Queen of Silk) and had to do smaller sections, but when I took a pic with my iPad that actually worked well. Then I just open it with ibooks and good to go!
ОтветитьI am not sure if I count as a "Mira" stitcher but here's how I do:
I scanned the two halves of the chart, and then printed them out. Better than a photo copy as you can have a few attempts and make sure the symbols are clear. I then wrote "top left 1, top left 2, top right 1" etc on the top of each blown up piece and, because I know myself and know I'm an idiot, even drew a map of where each piece went to make the whole. I made sure each sub-set had at least 5 rows overlap.
Skin 1 x 1 gives a more ethereal look (the skin looks more delicate) but it's a lot of work to make sure it isn't blocky. Be prepared to do some experimenting - you essentially have to adapt the chart.
I like them the way they are charted for now, so I do mine 2x2.
Hope that helps!

Aha, also a September Baby 👍🏻
As I prefer to stitch on Aida, I do Mira skin as charted. Some people like doing 4 times the work and do the skin over one, which looks nice, but if you make a mistake and have to frog, it will be a pain. It really depends on what you want it to look like and then do it over one or over two. Quarterstitches are usually there where there will be a backstitch line going over it, so I do a quarter stitch on each side (in the diagonal) and then use the backstitch to make it nice again.
As for the pattern, I always make working copies! I put them on the copier and weigh them down with a heavy book (A4 or letter size) and not the lid of the copier, I make the copies overlapping and then either stick them together or mark where the overlap is and mark them with numbers like the HAED pattern page numbers.
Hey, we like similar music! Nightwish was amazing live with the previous singer! But I am a Rammstein girl at heart. Deftones, Korn, NIN, Alice in Chains, Offspring, .... are the sort of CDs my brother finds in the car and is usually not very happy if I left it on CD and the volume up 🤭
Happy Stitching 🧵💜
Introvert nights sound awesome 🤣 it’s funny a couple years ago I was really into cross-stitch but then it got away from me and now I focus on books. Hobbies seem to come around in phases for me. Really great to see how the WIPs are coming along. Have you ever been to a metal concert. I am forever in awe of the drumming! High-school me playing drums in the marching band could only dream lol
ОтветитьThank you for suggesting Epica, it is now all I listen to at work! Awesome cross stitching too 😉
ОтветитьI just copy the mira as is. I do skin 1\1 bc its a personal preference. Love ur progress
