Miles? Gallons? What is this, a vehicle for Fred Flintstone?

Had a 2022 GV70 3.5t Advanced with 31k flawless miles, traded it for a 2023 G80 2.5t Sport Prestige with 22k flawless miles and went to trade that for a 2024 GV80 2.5t Sport Prestige. I ruined the test drive experience by test driving a 2024 MDX Advance ten minutes before the Genesis. The Acura dealer was next to the Genesis dealer and I met the sales rep there first. I knew nothing about Acura and really figured I wanted to get next door and drive the GV80. The sales rep could sell both lines and walked me over to the Genesis after testing the MDX.

During the GV80 test drive in a gorgeous silver/beige combo I found myself fidgeting with the seat controls. I figured they were the same seats I got in my G80 and knew right where the buttons were. I couldn’t make the rock hard seat feel good ever, and when I got back I stood outside playing with the buttons making sure the bladder was totally deflated…awful seats! They jerked me around on my trade in so I just left and the next day went to a different Acura dealer that had a black/black 2024 MDX Advanced. I walked first thing on Saturday and the first sales guy that got and welcomed me, I gave them the two keys for my G80 and told them what I wanted for a trade number and I want $2k off the msrp on the MDX. Easiest sale they made and I was out in 20 minutes. Came back three hours later and they had it prepared for delivery and I drove out with a new MDX.

I laid in bed the night I drove the GV80 and said I couldn’t live with those seats. It’s a work car as you can tell by how fast I put miles on it and six hour days in the saddle are not uncommon, so comfort matters! The MDX seats are damn near as comfortable as the Volvo XC90 which to me are the benchmark. I’m still a huge Genesis fan but two months later and 6k miles on the MDX…yah, I know…I’m sure I chose wisely. The extra $7,000 saved in my wallet feels pretty good too 😁

I'm considering buying a GV80. some owners complained that battery is dead after a few days of no driving. Fixed? Thank you.
