In a nutshell.

Data Lake < Data Warehouse

Data Lake: Just like a lake which can have water, ducks, plants etc. Similarly you can dump any kind of data in this. Example: Audio, Video, Text File etc.
Data Warehouse: Like a warehouse of Candy shop, it can have candies and it's ingredients organised. Example: Huge database of bank transaction over a period of, let say 25 years.

Data Lake: Unorganised
Data Warehouse: Organised and good.
