Did you ever get this bike on the road?
ОтветитьIm wondering how this new carb is working out for you 2 years later? I have an 81 gl1100 interstate i am cleaning up and putting back to 1981 brand new condition and want to get a second one and would maybe do this conversion. Thanks for the videos!
ОтветитьWhat brand carb was it
ОтветитьHo there, this video is really helpful, I'm trying to get the adjustment on my , i did realize you have a vacuum hose on the carburator, can you please give me some tips on that.
Much appreciated

You watch raymans
ОтветитьI have a fee questions: where did you put the thick hose on (Carter air)? I only have a small air filter and no extra point to connect the hose. Which connection did you use for the small vacuüm hose?
ОтветитьHello, im struggling to keep my gl 1000 running, just wonder if is the carburator malfunction, can you please let me know where i can purchase a carburator like yours thanks Renato.
ОтветитьThanks for this series! Been working on my 81 Goldwing and this has helped a lot getting it back on the road. How has this single carb setup been working?
ОтветитьThe simplicity is amazing. I'm thinking of doing something like this on my 85 Madura. Can't get parts easily for it, and the carbs are a PITA to tune and keep in healthy condition at this age. Not to mention, a single carb would be the easiest way to add a turbocharger. lol
What cfm is your carburetor?
I have this same set up on my 83 interstate 1100, its getting too much gas and fouling plugs runs pretty good but i have to clean the plugs and it drinks the fuel, even black smoked when i rev it in neutral
Ответитьhello, I was thinking that it is where you have the pipes under the carburetor, there is enough space, but instead of the jumpers, the compressor from the VW Corado and the four-point injection of the Subaru went there, the engine is a GL 1200, but it drives crazy, mainly it has a brutal thrust from below and because there is injection and different ignition, it spins at 12500 revolutions, according to the engine brake 185 hp and at 8000 revolutions and 210Nm as I say it is hell on two wheels.
Otherwise, greetings from the Czech Republic
Did you ever end up jetting it? How is the fuel mileage? Thanks for the great video.
ОтветитьWhere did you find this setup thanks Eddie
ОтветитьHi I really enjoyed your video I can’t seem to find this set up could you tell me where you got the carburetor and the manifold would sure appreciate it thank you very much
ОтветитьWhat carburetor did you use and where did you get the intake manifold?
ОтветитьCould you please share a link to get the conversion kit
ОтветитьWas the carb straight out of the box.not rejetted.
ОтветитьAny Flooding issues
ОтветитьHow does it run ? Im undergoing the same process
ОтветитьThis series has been super helpful as I’ve been repairing my old 81 wing. Would love to see an update on your bike and it’s current state.
ОтветитьI might have missed it, but what was your reason behind the conversion? Do you still have the old carbs? I’m missing the diaphragm spring and main jet needle on one and I would totally buy the whole set off you.
ОтветитьYears ago i had a van and the electric choke was nothing but trouble. I fitted a kit to revert to manual choke and was good as gold from them on
ОтветитьI had to re-jet mine. I had bump up mine a good bit. First it would not take off without feathering the clutch. After bumping up the pilot jet it was fixed. Then WOT would fall on it’s face, but slightly speed up after letting off the throttle. Bumped up the main and now it runs fine. I have to adjust the mixture screw a half a turn every few weeks for some reason. Probably cause it is a cheap Chinese copy.
ОтветитьThis type of carb is used on the old vw air cooled beetle. There's plenty of info on the web about setting it up. Nothing wrong with reading the manual before you go cutting bits off. Plenty of spares for these carbs too, you'll need them
ОтветитьWhat carb did you purchase and where did you purchase it from? Also, is this now a single throttle cable or is it still a push pull 2 cable system?
ОтветитьWith this conversion kit did you have to fab anything or was everything just as easy as ordering it, I just purchased an 84' gl1200a and she definitely needs some love
ОтветитьAre you aware of any of those 4 to 1 carb conversion kits being available for the Honda DOHC CB750's?
ОтветитьSeems like it needs a bigger carb, never knew anyone that kept this kit on
ОтветитьThis is not the correct way you can’t tune the carb without the air filter connected you will have to do it again
ОтветитьI have recently found your channel, and I'm enjoying it very much. I like your style of presentation and approach to problems. I have a 1982 Kawasaki KZ1300 that I bought to restore, when I find a garage I can rent here in England.
ОтветитьFollow up video coming?
How was test ride?
What about vac.timing advance?
I don't remember thar.
I'm trying to leave my carbs/with um jacked open.
It's making my vw carb sit a bit high.
Wonder where I can get a plug for the cut-off sol.?my sol.all but hits the frame.
I love your video can you please let me know size of jets you useing
ОтветитьGooood
Ответитьyou have the ground wire to the (negative – terminal) and the 2 red ones (positive + terminal)
ОтветитьLooking for part numbers for intake and single carberator
ОтветитьI never got any instructions on how to assemble and how to hook vacuum lines up any way to put out a show on that
ОтветитьHope to see an update soon
ОтветитьWhat is make and model for carb
ОтветитьIs this would work on st 1100
ОтветитьPlease explain how you got the throttle to open all the way. I’m having the problem of it hitting the frame.
ОтветитьI put a 34 pict 3 on an 1100 two years ago and although I didn't keep the bike, it ran great and the guy I sold it to rides the begesus out of it. And it ran like skat too. The only real thing I had to do was enlarge the idle jet. I also had that same style manifold at first but went to one that looks like an X from etsy.
ОтветитьDónde compró el carburador no lo puedo encontrar
ОтветитьNope don’t set your up this way.
ОтветитьЗдравствуйте,а как поменялся расход топлива с одним карбюратором? Спасибо, удачи.
ОтветитьNice video than you for sharing. Did you liked the conversion? How does it drive? Are you going to make more videos on the GL1100?
ОтветитьThe screw in the moving arm should be adjusted to close the buterfly valve just before it touches the ventury walls to prevent wear, the BIG brass screw is the air bypass and it's made to control the iddle speed,(turn clockwise To lower RPM) the small screw controls the amount of fuel at idle. (Turning clockwise leans the iddle mixture)
ОтветитьI'm going to put 4 of those on mine.
ОтветитьGonna go uuuhnnn, uuuhnn, uuuhnn, love mechanic speak. 😄
ОтветитьNow to get a maker to come out with an injector set up .
