I have a cold and I couldn’t breathe from my nose even if I wanted to. What’s a safe way to breathe from the mouth?

Ong this's so true. I constantly have to breath with mouth bc the cold block my nose. Now my nose is unusually large and i have overbite teeth.

This advice wont work if your palate is already narrow or high after 16.

Can we correct it by breathing by Nose?

My parents never corrected my mouth breathing due to my frequent colds. I only realized the problem of mouth breathing when I was 15 (now, I am 17). I have just taught my little sister, who is 7 years old, to always breathe through her nose so that she won't become like me 👃

It also makes it droops your law jaw. For e.g mine lower jaw was aligned 90 degree with face when I was like 7,8 years old. You know what I am talking about. 10 years of mouth breathing caused it to good towards the floor in simple words.

Shit man wish my parents told me about this I am a mouth breather since childhood developed asymmetrical face and crooked teeth growing up now I feel so depressed by seeing my face finally got my braces on plus started nose breathing with my tongue on the roof only the problem is I find difficulty in nose breathing while sleeping I constantly keep closing my mouth conciously that could lead to sleep disturbance let's see what happens when my teeth are alighned

My teeth kinda pinpoint outwards to over bite because thumb sucking but that habit is slowly breaking

I am 27 ...I have been a mouth breather..all my life.... Now very much in control after knowing ..all the harm..that mouth breathing did to me..
First... clearing nose congestion always...( Doing neti most of the time.. sometimes steaming ..)
Starting putting tape on my mouth . Yeah i know it's funny but best decision of my life.. improved my sleep quality plus ...less dry mouth issue..

Improving lifestyle..
Like stopping habits which increase nasal congestion or swelling..like late night sleeping.. dairy product or cold stuff .
Soon i will do something for teeth alignment.. hopefully..it will help me more to control mouth breathing

Everyone in their 20's stop coping with mewing and just rest it as well as you can just don't obsess cause it's already too late.

If I ever find someone after a take care of my teeth, my children will be beautiful and have the most radiant smiles ever because i sure as hell am going to care about there facial health.
